  • I think this director is a genius. The random takes he shoots to is phenomenal. Like when Aron Ralston is depicted as thirsty, instead of declaring, "I'm thirsty!", Aron will lick his lips, close his eyes, and the shot will take to an old 1980's coke commercial, and a beach party full of cold drinks. I think that was a radical shot that deserved alot of credit.

  • thank god he decided to make this film and not some other director that didin't respect the story

  • This rock … This rock has been waiting for me my entire life. I hate this rock! It’s entire life. Ever since it was a bit of meteorite. A million billion years ago. How the fuck did this get here? There in space. It’s been waiting … to come here. Right, right here. I’ve been moving towards it my whole life. The minute I was born. Every breath I’ve taken, every action … has been leading me to this. A crack in the surface.

  • Great interview. Most of the mainstream stations ask the obvious, but what a lot of us want to hear is what you've asked. Thanks for an interesting discussion :)

  • @jmsosullivan keep meaning to reply on this. Thank YOU for the kind words. Danny was a delight. I try to keep my questions focused on what I think people want to hear, and not ask the same old stuff. I want the viewer and the subject to enjoy themselves. It makes me feel like I'm doing something right to see positive feedback like this, so thanks for the response!

  • This was a really spectacular story to put into film and made an interesting interview :)

  • I love how Danny couldn't let go of the hat!

  • Aww, good interview! but I was Hoping that ypu'd ask about 28 Months Later lol, Been Waintong for that!!! lol

  • @BANGONEM I wanted to, but we had limited time. Besides, I think outside of him being open to doing it, there isn't really much to tell. Last I heard he's interested but there's not mouch movement at this point. I'd love to see him return to that world too.

  • @BANGONEM

Ofcourse everyone loves to remember Danny Boyle creating 28 days later, and it was a great film, but I don't think you should ask him about it when he's just created his latest masterpiece.

It's almost like asking us why did we did something when we were 8 years old (This is a complete trivialisation, and I mean it more as a joke than anything)

  • Danny Boyle, you are a legend........lets get the campaign going for best director Oscar 2011.

  • Was there another guy who amputated his leg or sumthing in a similar accident?

When did THIS thing occur in real life? was it around 3 years ago?

  • @TheChewyTunes Aron Ralston had the now famous accident depicted in 127 HOURS in May of 2003. Do a search on Wikipedia for "Aron Ralston"

  • @TheChewyTunes yeah, ive heard of two other cases where guys get the arms caught in machines.
