@come2u2cu Oh! Well, that makes sense, then, since I was obviously wrong when I said "Everyone in the world calls this a rimshot." In the U.S., the "ba-dum-bum" the drummer plays after the punchline of a joke is generally called a rimshot. Even though, as you pointed out, it's not. For example, see the website instantrimshot/dot.com.
