@299YFT 235/15 -stock but I have 245`s on my challenger and i like them better. Also if your planning a big brake set up you need to have at least 16-17 inch rim for disk caliper to fit.
@MegaAwsomeStudios not the road runner, but the Plymouth GTX, basically the same car only that the GTX is the luxury version of a Road Runner, they made about 330 of them. with the hemi 426 the beast tops out at little over 500horses if you go to the dyno, Plymouth says they only give about 425
Yep. That was the exact car I wanted to buy in 1970. Metallic blue, black vinyl top and, of course a 426 hemi. I just couldn't afford the $3800 at the time!
My cousins now x husband bought one of those new but I remember a wing on the back. Same color and that scoop that came up on the hood. He'd drive me to school and blast through the gears with that pistol grip shifter and I can still remember the scream of the engine. I was 12 and wanted one. Oh well most of todays cars are beyond boring.
The 1970 roadrunner is by faaarrrr the nicest musclecar ever made, id be the owner of one but i had to choose between that or a toyota supra, i bought the supra for now, but i will own a 1970 roadrunner at some point in my life!
We have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 (1%) API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs/Injection and tank clean and rustfree!
@NorkiddExo You meen the spark knock? the spark knock is when the engine fires on its own like a diesel does, so the spark plug doesnt even fire the cylinder. Thats like in movies and tv shows when you hear it that bad. Thats bad for the engine if it does that. Thats why its makes the knocking sound that sounds like a diesel because its fireing like one. hope that helps.
70 is my favorite year for the RoadRunner and she looks even meaner with that air grabber. I had a shot to snatch a 440 70 roadrunner off some lady who didnt know what she had. she was about to sell it to the scrapyard then I came along. then her damn boyfriend found out and quadrupled the price on it and screwed me out of potentally the best deal of my life.
Last I heard it was sitting on blocks in their shed still for sale. no one will touch it with the price it has on it for its condition
That is a nice car and rather rare with the N96 option. I use to own a '70 with a non-factory 440 and it would do the 150 mph and it had the N96 option air grabber and power steering. That was it as far as options! Of course the car had an open rear with 2.76 gears. I sold the car for $5000 ten years ago to pay my first year of college (what a waste) lol. I now own an even rarer '72 Road Runner with a factory U code 440 and GTX option with front and rear sway bars. Has a few options such
@DerkaDog Just trick eyebztrippin into becoming ur friend, and after like a month make him tell u his home adress, kill him, steal the car and burn his remains, so no evidence is left
oh yes i know this car and i know who's it is this is only one of many cars he has and they are all like this one everything in them is pretty much factory stock this one is my favorite by far.
@ majordave the scoop is spring loaded and works on engine vacuum. Known by mopar enthusiasts as the "Air Grabber" option.... reminds me of my dads old 71 gtx when i was a kid. 440 six pack car with the air grabber on it
Listening to that promising idle, expecting the lion to roar.... and boom right in your face you get that squeechy horn which sounds like it's been taken right out of one of those hilarious "Ducks" (2CV) from France...*lmao*
one of the greatest injustices in the world is that i will never be able to afford to own one of these......i am reduced to watching vids like this with my tounge hanging out :-)
I have a 1969 road runner 383 pistol grip im currently restoreing, looking for a new front hood, mine just has too many dings in it and i have way to much mud on it.
my dad had a 69 with a 440 magnum ,4 speed, bone stock,it was a wild monster,he paid 400 dollars for it back in 1979,it was beautiful, hes been kickn his self in the ass now, that car is worth 50000 dollars now
no its not and the car is worth a lot more than 32k. (keep in mind this is an matching numbers hemi with all original parts/sheetmetal)this vehicle can pretty much buy a house. you can get a project road runner for about 10k-15 if your lucky but definatly not with a hemi. just a regular road runner. if your looking to buy now the time while the economy is messed up
@EYEBZTRIPPIN AGREED, I found a hi-perf 383 4spd project car several years back, got it with a dated correct but non-matching 440 with six pack, came with some factory options, different steering wheel than in this video, everything else was the same, air grabber hood on...im the second owner (first owner bought in 1971 and sold the original engine. i got it for a steal in this economy for $9500 with engine running - it needs TLC and first owner kept in a barn since 1980.

YEAH...i know what you mean thats how my 70 challenger is like thing doesnt want to stay on the road realy wobily cant drive vars like that with 1 hand need both or it will get away from you
I went to a junkyard and got another steering box thinking it was good and that one was f' ed up too. That was back in the mid to late 70s right out of high school when I was Po' and couldn't afford a brand one. Damn I should have kept that car.
The road runner is the best plymouth muscle car to come off the assembly line. The only thing about the one I own is that the dumb previous owner got drunk and rolled the car 13 times so the car had to be restored over a period of 4 years, now I am busy hunting down the hemi from the junk yard, they pulled it out but it's no where to be seen.
