If anybody enters your home, destroys it, killing and abusing your people- you have the full right to fight them with ANY means. Only Hitler's allies considered this terrorism, for obvious reasons.
The discussion with TomDavid is pointless. He speaks his nazi mind, and that's it.
Tom David, you nazi fan (88 stands for Heil Hitler I assume) and ignorant: AK (Polish Home Army) was an arm of the Polish Armed Forces loyal to the legal Polish government in London. Poland did not surrender in 1939 and a legitimate Polish government was formed in exile in accordance with Polish pre war constitution. All of the soldiers of AK used clear markings like armbands and so on. They also treated German POWs in accordance with international law.
@szatgan No, they did none of the above, as a rule, and so the German Army took the same type of reprisals against them as they did with any partisan organization- 100 native deaths for every German soldier killed. You can not compare these terrorists with, for example, legitimate Polish troops who fought in uniform at Monte Casino.
Haha, you wrote that purely to get a response out of people . In your future studies of WWII, you'll find out that the Germans and Japanese didn't play by the rules much either.
These were ALL Polish partisans, ILLEGAL warfare according to international standards, so, why feel sorry for them? I feel sorry for al the young German men in uniform who died killing these Polack criminals.
@TomDavid88 whatever dude. these weren't criminals, these were bad-asses who were fighting ss and gustapo units (the known criminals of the wehrmacht). they fought in the open with their own uniforms and insignia, not dressed like civilians. and the point of the uprising was to claim the city before the arrival of the red army, because the insurgents didn't want the capital to fall under the control of soviet scum.
@HailSatan411 Hardly ANY of them wore uniforms, but then what is a partisan uniform? Some wore captured German uniforms! And they were fighting Waffen SS who were legitimate combat soldiers (not the Gestapo, which was comprised of only a few hundred active agents). Essentiallt they were terrorists who caused the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent Poles when the Germans took reprisals for their illegal warfare.
@razzopardi1 Iäm referring to the turning point in the outcome of the war, numbnuts. Barbarossa was the whole point for waging war in the first place.
In famous Ghetto Uprising 200 Germans were killed or wounded. It's not an auction but take it into consideration before you will say bullshit like this again.
My argument isn't with the Poles it is with CNN and the makers of this documentary.
Do you think a public service broadcaster like CNN or BBC should make so few programs about communism and underplay the role of communists in programs like this ? It is certainly not because Nazis are more interesting.
I presume you mean that Stalin was afraid of the allies and so covered up Katyn.
David Cameron's Defense policy, a seat for himself, his family and other Conservative and Lib Dem big wigs and their families on a requisitioned British Airways Boeing 777 departing London Heathrow destination Bermuda, before the first Iranian ten kiloton yield range nuke detonates over London. Put the Nimrod MRA4 in to service, keep the Harrier GR9 in service, maintain RAF Lossiemouth and RAF Kinloss as operational military airbases and kick Mr Cameron out of 10 Downing Street.
@pablorambo123 This documentary adds nothing to our understanding of these events . What was the role of communists in the west ? How did Stalin learn of this uprising ? What about the Polish communists in Moscow ? It is typical of CNN and the BBC never to ask these questions . There are 500 programs on Nazi Germany to every one on communism . Why is this ?
@tincoffin Stalin learnt of the uprising because there was an independent polish army fighting on the eastern front sided with the russian army, the polish army went in to help whilst the russians were ordered to do nothing, there were polish communists like there were german liberals, none of the polish communists would have been tied with the government.
@tincoffin Stalin made sure none of the acts against eastern europe he committed were publicised as the allies were affraid of him, look up katyn. that was unpublished until 1990, just one example
as to programs aired i dont know, maybe people find nazis more interesting
as to saying i lack knowledge in this area, i am a full bred pole, my granddad who lived through it tells me as it is
They still say that all what took place in Katyn was caused by Germans. All the time - "It's not our fault!" Polanf is still fighting for the true, but 'democratic country' called "Russia" doesn't want to confess! ...................
@tincoffin I think that fighter from opposite (Russian) side of the river could protect Warsaw. Americans proved in late September 1944, that it is possible to force Stalin to help and let American planes to land behind eastern front lines.
@2pepe22 In June 1945 in Moscow started Trial of the Sixteen of 16 leaders of the Polish Underground State arested by NKVD. Soviets accused Them of "collaboration with Nazi Germany". Veterans of antinazi resistance created "Cursed soldiers" mouvement continued the struggle against the pro-Soviet government of Poland well into the 1950s. The last cursed soldier Józef Franczak was killed in an ambush with pistol in his hand as late as 1963, almost 20 years after the Soviet take-over of Poland.
What cargo planes & what fighters ? The allies made some pretty appalling errors in the war but trying to start a second front in Poland was not one of them
I am proud to be polish. It was a horrible time, but against all odds, the poles didn't loose faith. It's truly inspiring. Thank you for uploading this!
The military and logistical help from the western allies was just an attempt to cover something hidden beneath - that neither Churchill, nor Roosevelt hadn't even tried to press on Stalin to do something (and they could have push, considering the amount of help Russia was receiving with the lend-lease program). The truth is that they exchanged a weaker ally, which Poland was for a stronger ally - Stalin.
Actually, the euthanasia program did have humanitarian aims, considering that the freed-up medical resources could be channeled to patients who were actually curable. But such a decision is not one for which I would want to be responsible, nor is it conceivable in this time of relative surplus. In any case, it wasn't popular and was stopped after a year because many protested it. All things considered, they probably euthanized far fewer people than Woodrow Wilson's regime sterilized.
The makers of this documentary should be taken out and shot for subtly falsifying history. It makes the allied concessions to the Russians as equally reprehensible as Stalin's failure to help the Poles . As ADZ points out the allies were in no position to help the Poles ,a 14 hour flight away, the Russians were 20 miles away but refused to advance. The allies did not stop them . the Russians and the Russians alone caused this massacre. This documentary underplays that fact - .Why?
@tincoffin You're a fucking retard. The allies betrayed Poland before the Uprising, selling it to the Soviets. Do you have any idea how much help Russia was recieving from the allies, the allies could have pressed the Russians you fucking idiot. It should have sent its planes anyway, what would Russia do? Shoot them down, and face extinction? Don't post idiotic shit when you have absolutely no knowledge on the subject, you ignorant fool.
@tincoffin Like I said, the Allies were too scared of Russia to help. And secondly, it already sold Poland to the Soviets in 1943 in the Yalta conference yet it encouraged an uprising after the fact. That's mentioned in the video, did you even watch it you idiot?
@strongman325 And noone was betrayed except by the Russians. There was some communication between the Polish government in exile in London and the leaders of the uprising and they would have made it clear that there was nothing they could do from this side.
@tincoffin a round of sandwiches? is that what you think a bomber plane could carry? what r u on crack or something? Bombers and transport could fly MUCH farther than fighter planes, and some fighter planes did drop supplies sooo.... And Poland was also betrayed in the Yalta conference, where the Americans and British sold poland to the Soviets and gave them almost 1/3 of Poland's pre-war territory. Get your facts straight.
@strongman325 Its very simple more fuel ,less payload and vice versa . Flying to Warsaw was not merely utterly futile but completely suicidal. LOOK AT A MAP .The allies could do nothing and everyone knew it including the Polish leadership.
Yalta : At last someone has pointed out the obvious that Poland would have been very lucky to have had this "betrayal" she would have ended up with two thirds of her territory.
@tincoffin Lol, they should have pressed the Russians. I mean they provided tremendous help to the Russians. A halt in this would be catastrophic for the Russians. The RAF flew to warsaw, all they had to do was press the russians to allow their larger planes. Don't even talk bullshit about Yalta. Poland provided great help to the allies, and was SOLD to the soviets. Ask anyone who lived through communism, it was utterly horrible. I would rather have a much smaller free poland.
@strongman325 You clearly haven't LOOKED AT A MAP as I recommended . Look where Warsaw is and then look where Germany is. Then tell me how you fly from a base in England to Warsaw . The British have acknowledged perhaps not enough but certainly a great deal the contribution of the Poles. It has meant in recent years that the Poles have been able to settle here in large numbers & been welcomed.
harldy welcomed, the british chased poles out of the uk after the war ended
and when they did go back to poland stalin sent any ex soldier into prison camps a long with germans
you're correct when you say the british couldnt do much to help the uprising but allies still negleted poland through out the war when they could have easily helped
@pablorambo123 Well certainly some stayed as I know several Polish families which have been here since the war. How could they have "easily helped " the Poles it is a question of geography and the existing technology.
@tincoffin you again? It was easy to help, if only they would have really tried. If fighter planes could make it, cargo planes sure as hell would be able to.
@tincoffin Umm buddy did you even watch all the 5 parts of this video? A little of 100 tons of supplies WAS delivered to Warsaw by mostly fighter planes of the Allied air force. About 50 tons of that was recovered. Now 100 tons is a drop of water in an ocean of needs for a huge city like Warsaw.
@tincoffin Communism destroyed eastern europe, everything was grey, freedom was again stripped from the people. Extreme poverty. And the Russians did as much killing as hitler, except they kept this secret. I wouldn't consider that "lucky". After Poland greatly helped the allies in the Battle of Britain, Monte Cassino, Falaise Pocket, ULTRA, and many more, the allies simply sold Poland away. That's called betrayal.
I judged the Poles by their enemies. And I found it was an almost unfailing truth that their enemies were the enemies of magnanimity and manhood. If a man loved slavery, if he loved usury, if he loved terrorism and all the trampled mire of materialistic politics, I have always found that he added to these affections the passion of a hatred of Poland. She could be judged in the light of that hatred; and the judgment has proved to be right."
The comparisons that can be drawn between Warsaw and The Gaza Strip are incredibly revealing and I'm constantly stunned that people still defend the Zionist state of Israel.
That Hitler "killed millions" has been largely disproved. Even the holocaust industry has finally been forced to admit that no "death camps" ever existed on German soil.
Of course there's Auschwitz which has a gas chamber that the Soviets were kind enough to "reconstruct" so that we'd see what it would have looked like had Nazis actually "gassed" anyone in it. The Allies never saw that camp, since it was "liberated" by Soviets.
You are the reason why everyone still thinks that Germans are Nazis. So you say that 25mln Soviets, 3mln ethnic Poles, 6 mln Jews and futher mlns of other nationalities disapeared just like that? What an idiot. Plz go kill yourself, you're a disgrace for Germany.
It's too bad Pilsudski wasn't in power. His relations with Germany were relatively good. A compromise for the Danzig corridor could have been forged, along with perhaps an alliance against the murderous Bolsheviks.
Instead Rydz-Smigly was greedy. What was his famous personal dream? -- "trotting on horseback as a conqueror ... and watering his steed in Berlin's Spree River"? Ahh, the dream of Pan-Slavicism.
@LibertaerUeberAlles Sorry - I completely disagree that it's been largely disproved. Most of the historians that discredit it have been discredited themselves.
@LibertaerUeberAlles There may be some semantics over the use of the word genocide, but that he killed millions is undeniable, particularly when you include the disabled, the mentally ill, those who were politically opposed to him, gypsies - in total, more than the 6 million Jews.
@LibertaerUeberAlles Then if you add to that the civilians murdered by the Blitzkreigs as he invaded neighburing countries.
You cite Aushwitz as evidence that the deathcamps and the gassing of prisoners were a fabrication - what about the camps liberated by the (first black) American tank batttalion in one case and the British.
I'm not sure what you're getting at. Hitler was basically a kind humanitarian and misunderstood? Where are you going with this?
Giving the Germans Danzig would kill Poland as it was the only way to the world market. After WW1 relations with Germany were never good so the Germans blocked the transit of polish wares. Moreover everyone knew that Germans wouldn't stop their demands. First Rheinland, then Austria, then Sudetenland, then whole Czechoslovakia. Hitler never hid his intentions to conquer whole Poland. And you say that Poland was greedy? You must stop drinking.
Anyway Rydz-Smigly didn't have much power. Panslavism? Maybe - but it wasn't the state doctrine. Remember Poles were fighting communist long before the Hitler. Have you heard about the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact?
Honest historians don't believe in the "holocaust" insofar as it being a genocide. Even the holocaust industry admits that there's no evidence to support it. If you're not familiar with the topic, search the web for:
@LibertaerUeberAlles The soviets were part of the allies you idiot. Stop posting stupid shit lol, the Holocaust happened and the numbers are accurate and it has been proven thousands of times.
What could of the Western allies done / They had only just landed at Normandy they were hundreds of miles from Warsaw with 1.5 millions German soldiers between them. The Russians were in a much better posistion to help only 20 kilometers away. But they deliberately done nothing. The Soviets hate Poles. Stalin was as brutal to the Poles as Hitler.
Did six years of bombing Nazi Germany stop the war ? No. It was the regular infantry man with his rifle and bayonet. Alllied airsupport would not of made any significant change in the out come of the Warsaw rising. It was house to house combat. Sure you could of completely destroyed Warsaw with bombing but that would of killed even more Poles than the Nazis did in the Rising.
Bombing wouldn't help. But weapons, supplies and thousands of polish paratroopers in the West would help. Ok the Allies helped a bit (mostly by the hands of Poles in their armies), but more could have been done.
@ADZ01982 The bombings largely helped in the war LOL. Ever hear of the battle of britain. You are truly retarded. Again, don't post shit if you haven't even read about the topic.
@tincoffin Those were 2 different points. The bombings helped in the war largely. And I mention the Battle of Britain to make my point that the war in the skies was just as important.
@strongman325 So you like bombing .Now which is better ; to fly a short distance mainly across water to drop a ton of bombs on Germany or to or to fly in specially adapted planes(no existing bomber could reach Warsaw) across the whole of Germany & back to deliver the equivalent of a round of sandwiches ?
sad but true. Stalin never really wanted to fight Hitler. They signed a non-aggression pact and were going to carve up Poland between their two empires. this failed only because hitler wanted all of poland.
both Stalin and Hitler killed millions of their own citizens. Thank god they are both dead and gone now, and their governments with them!
I am amazed the way the introduction says "Dday, The normandy invasions. The turning point in WW2" um...lets face it. The war was won with Soviet blood.

@tincoffin well some how they managed!

@tincoffin Roosevelt and Churchhill supported an uprising.

@strongman325 If Roosevelt & Churchill offered help they would obviously expect it to be given through the Russians

History truly is written by the victors.

I'm not German.
LibertaerUeberAlles 1 year ago 3
@LibertaerUeberAlles Sorry - I completely disagree that it's been largely disproved. Most of the historians that discredit it have been discredited themselves.
soash20 1 year ago
@LibertaerUeberAlles There may be some semantics over the use of the word genocide, but that he killed millions is undeniable, particularly when you include the disabled, the mentally ill, those who were politically opposed to him, gypsies - in total, more than the 6 million Jews.
soash20 1 year ago
@LibertaerUeberAlles Then if you add to that the civilians murdered by the Blitzkreigs as he invaded neighburing countries.
You cite Aushwitz as evidence that the deathcamps and the gassing of prisoners were a fabrication - what about the camps liberated by the (first black) American tank batttalion in one case and the British.
I'm not sure what you're getting at. Hitler was basically a kind humanitarian and misunderstood? Where are you going with this?

@LibertaerUeberAlles Pan-slavism was Russia attempting to russify its population in the 1800's you moron.
strongman325 1 year ago
Giving the Germans Danzig would kill Poland as it was the only way to the world market. After WW1 relations with Germany were never good so the Germans blocked the transit of polish wares. Moreover everyone knew that Germans wouldn't stop their demands. First Rheinland, then Austria, then Sudetenland, then whole Czechoslovakia. Hitler never hid his intentions to conquer whole Poland. And you say that Poland was greedy? You must stop drinking.
MakroTeh 1 year ago
Anyway Rydz-Smigly didn't have much power. Panslavism? Maybe - but it wasn't the state doctrine. Remember Poles were fighting communist long before the Hitler. Have you heard about the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact?
MakroTeh 1 year ago
@LibertaerUeberAlles I'm curious, who has disproved it?
What's your point - that Hitler was not a dictator who oversaw an oppressive brutal regime?
soash20 1 year ago
@soash20
Honest historians don't believe in the "holocaust" insofar as it being a genocide. Even the holocaust industry admits that there's no evidence to support it. If you're not familiar with the topic, search the web for:
"One Third of the Holocaust"
It's a good introduction. Cheers!

Stalin was as brutal to the Poles as Hitler.

did u ever heard about airplanes?
SzoomWoodki 2 years ago
Did six years of bombing Nazi Germany stop the war ? No. It was the regular infantry man with his rifle and bayonet. Alllied airsupport would not of made any significant change in the out come of the Warsaw rising. It was house to house combat. Sure you could of completely destroyed Warsaw with bombing but that would of killed even more Poles than the Nazis did in the Rising.

packages can be thrown on parachutes
SzoomWoodki 2 years ago
Bombing wouldn't help. But weapons, supplies and thousands of polish paratroopers in the West would help. Ok the Allies helped a bit (mostly by the hands of Poles in their armies), but more could have been done.
MakroTeh 1 year ago
@ADZ01982 The bombings largely helped in the war LOL. Ever hear of the battle of britain. You are truly retarded. Again, don't post shit if you haven't even read about the topic.
strongman325 1 year ago
@strongman325 And how did bombing help in the Battle of Britain ?
tincoffin 1 year ago
@tincoffin Those were 2 different points. The bombings helped in the war largely. And I mention the Battle of Britain to make my point that the war in the skies was just as important.
strongman325 1 year ago
@strongman325 So you like bombing .Now which is better ; to fly a short distance mainly across water to drop a ton of bombs on Germany or to or to fly in specially adapted planes(no existing bomber could reach Warsaw) across the whole of Germany & back to deliver the equivalent of a round of sandwiches ?
tincoffin 1 year ago
@ADZ01982
sad but true.
