Ooops. My bad. I guess that's what happens when you get real old, your brain goes spongeform and ancient memories of early Atlas launches take over...
To be fair, the exact meaning of those abbreviations apparently depends on which LV provider uses it. Your Atlas reference was also correct, just not in this particular context - a Delta II launch.
Humans are the Smartest Species! We are smart as a whole, and to be honest, anyone who thinks any differently is wrong!
Honestly, some internet posters do this on purpose just to get noticed, and it makes them look foolish! More than half of the negative things they post aren't true!
either your truly deluded, or your only referring to nature species on this planet. For surely no one is that naive! 60% of this planet still can't admit we don't know why we are here and would rather sell it to a religion which mostly is based on blind faith. Rather than admit responsibility for our actions and stop greed and ignorance. Your statement PROVES our own ignorance and i rest my case. well maybe now, but for now atleast
Hello there, I am the other life in your galaxy. You can stop looking into space for a while and take a look over in this direction :) Stop in and say hello if your capsule ever happens to be over this way. 10/4
You know what's sad, for a video that shows the some of the finest human achievements, 90% of the comments that followed are so moronic you'd wonder how human beings ever evolved beyond the stone age.
That's because those achievements were made by the top few percent of the human population. Let's face it, humans as a whole are a pretty dumb species. Idiotic comments are just a tip of the iceberg.

The REAL truth is America is a VERY, VERY smart nation. The fact that we can accomplish great things like this is just one of the many, many reasons why! We have the best scientific institutions in the world, and we never stop learning, or exploring!
SuperGamer7: I think Connecticut2009 just said, "Your belief that your nation is the most / more intelligent in the world (is) an error...Nothing / nobody is perfect."
yeah, lets keep wasting billions of dollars on space missions while our politicians tell us we dont have enough money to fix our infrastructures....sounds like BS...
But, we are a very intelligent population that takes pride in our art, education, and technology! NASA is just one of many examples! Long Live Space Exploration!
I second that!!! I would gladly pay big taxes if it meant continuing NASA space exploration. They don't play around at all and are elated at the little things the average person might not find interesting or don't understand.....I respect that! :)
Who said people think like they are gods? Just because mankind has accomplish space flight and touched the planets of our solar systems doesn't make us gods. I personally don't think we are even a spark of energy compared to the vast universe, however look at from the human point and you can see how far we have come.
Thanx for this, I caught a brief bit on Sky News but they nattered over the count and launch, as usual. The launch totally caught me out, I should study the NASA schedule a bit more carefully!
this is like old school watching the apollo launches. NASA will be going old school after the shuttle is retired respectively. There will be a program called the Constellation program it will take astronauts to the moon and further.
No sonic boom can be heard on the ground. There is one, but it's aiming UP toward the sky, not down where we can hear it. That's why we hear no sonic boom on the shuttle when it's climbing INTO space, but we CAN hear it when it's gliding home (since it's aimed downward toward the ground.
The double sonic boom is caused by the fact the orbiter is 122 feet long. The nose and the vertical tail each break the sound barrier separately about .500 seconds apart, resulting in two closely spaced - but distinct - sonic booms on the ground. Hope that helps...

Probably SECO: sustainer (main) engine cut-off.
rss0246 2 years ago
In this context, SECO means Second Engine Cut-Off, meaning 2nd stage shutdown. MECO would be 1st stage shutdown-

Masonic symbolism at it's finest!
Before we went to war and lost our freedoms.
Columbia, the symbol of our freedom was destroyed.
Now with the 2012 solar flare event combined with the (pent) 5th cycle of Niburu's return.
The Phoenix landing on Mars North pole. Represents the destruction of man to build from the ashes.
However man didn't rule mars.
It's not us that's starting a new it's them.

and replaced it with Phoenix.
But the MEGA SETI non stop,
NASA sent the Phoenix

Are there any videos from this launch of the onboard cams? If yes, will they be posted?
georgepool1976 4 years ago
I would imagine the rocket thrust would blind the camera from seeing anything.
Who knows, when they recover the camera we might be able to see some city lights.
HAL11000 4 years ago
There was no onboard camera on Phoenix's Delta 2.
