shared this song yesterday who plays guitar and he got teary eyed and just loved this song : ) thanx ever soooooo much again for the video and music : )
how can I find this song? who played it? just LOOOOOVE this song, can't get the beautiful notes and words out of my head , just soooooooo wonderful : ) thanx again
Many people shown interest and asked me about this song. I'm lucky to have a portion of the song by accident and unfortunately could not find a full version. But the lyrics are in admiration of Armenia's capital city 'Yerevan'.... such as:
Your're endless life like the sun.... Our home... Yerevan...
You shine between other lights... Shiny... Yerevan...
Nevertheless, this is one of Komitas's old masterpieces, not heard in other collections.
@Hairenakitz ok I hear it THANX for the clue , I'm going to try and learn some Armenian too : ) at least I hear Yerevan : ) coooooool. just finished reading Dr Usshur in Van 1917, very interesting
I thought you're an Armenian listening to Komitas!
Very pitty you can't speak Armenian... I'm sure you would have liked it twice if you did. As a hint you may be able to feel the singer's emphasize when pronouncing 'Yerevan'... it does really hurt us who is living far from 'Yerevan'.
@Hairenakitz i'M NOT ARMENIAN SOMETIMES WISH i WAS COULD BE, PART OF MY FAMILY HAS BEEN IN THIS COUNTRY FOR A FEW 100 YEARS : ) i LOVE THE CARPENTERS AND JUST STARTED READING EVERYTHING i CAN GET MY HANDS ON ABOUT ARMENIA, GREGORY BALAKIAN, PEARL KASHISHIAN, ETC ALOT OF THESE BOOKS MENTIONED KOMITAS SOOOOOO i HAD TO HEAR HIM FOR MYSELF : ) WOOOOOOOW HE HITS ME IN THE SOUL LIKE KAREN CARPENTER DOES, EVEN NOT UNDERSTANDING THE WORDS I CAN FEEL HIS HEART, COOOOOOOL. THANX
THEY SHOULD MAKE A MOVIE OF KOITAS, HIS LIFE AND MUSIC, THE BOOK i'M READING ABOUT HIM AND THEN HEARING HIM SHOULD BE DONE SOME HOW, FOR HIM AND FOR ALL ARMENIA : ) JUST A THOUGHT
As a person of Scotch/Irish/German ancestry Komitas' requiem mass honoring the Holocaust is the single most deeply moving, amazing, grace filled, piece of music I have encountered in my 63 years.
The filty ottoman dog has forgotten to mention that Komitas was born in Western Armenia, and like millions of other Armenians, he too, was a victim of the Genocide.

Thank you very much for this video. Could someone let me know who has written this song and whether a CD of the singer is on sale on the market? many thanks
The genius of Armenian music indeed who went insane witnessing unspeakable monstrocities committed by barbarians against his friends and against his beloved nation.
A video poetic and sad. An ancient instrument produces known as pearls. It is another beautiful faces noble. Then here is the human voice that sings the pain, perhaps regret. I have seen and heard on three occasions, unfortunately I did not understand the words, but my soul wept. Thank you my friend so far and private sectors of your roots. A huge hello and a hug from your friend:
This is exactly similar to Persian music! I have never found such similarity between any other nations music with ours. Its great, thanks for sharing!
Really great music !! Liked it very much.
Does someone know the name of this song because I really couldn't find it in the comments.

Komitas will be remembered forever for his extensive work of publishing and saving thousands of near forgotten Armenian folk songs.
Thanks Hairenakitz for posting, especially for choosing this specific song performed by Vostan.
