  • If you cannot teach kids, maybe you should find another job,,, it is not the end of the world,, im sure they are good at something else...

Set the kids free from public monopoly school or at-least attach the money to every individual. Then the kids get their education they deserve...

  • Obama hates you stupid people. Get over it and vote for a conservative.

  • FREE THE PUBLIC SCHOOL KIDS!! The U.S. Federation of Teachers is the largest donors to Democrat politicians. Thus, Hillary is against vouchers for us, but she sends Chelsea to superior private schools. The public schools aren't good enough for the Clinton's. Democrats love to control people. The cost per student per year at LA Public is $11,600. The cost per student per year at the private school in my neighborhood is $5,500. Vouchers=Competition. Competition=better products at lower prices.

  • Unions will never allow our children to have school choice. If the children are educated they are much less likely to join a union as adults.

  • Most of Europe allows for school choice. Teachers unions have destroyed US education.

  • Brian I respectfully disagree with you. What I'm trying to say is that teachers are very much unionized in Europe, and how come they are not distroying the school systems in europe?

  • I appreciate you being respectful. I do not know why teachers unions in Europe are not opposed to school choice. But here in the states the teachers unions are opposed to it. In most of Europe the money is attached to the student not the school system. So if a family chooses they can move from system to system (even private) and the government funds follow the student.

  • Its true for quite a number of countries but unfortunately not all.

  • School choice and unionization is a moot point in other parts of the world, because as a culture, they prioritize education much more than the US. You need to take entrance exams to attend HIGH SCHOOOLS in some Asian countries. Teachers often have to take tests to prove their worth. American teachers will NEVER accept the ultra high standards and expecatations common in S.korea or Japan, whose students clean out our clocks.

  • I would argue that the majority of people that these unions employ lack a high level of education (Truckers, Steel Workers, Dock Workers, the list goes on). If these same people were educated as engineers would they need to join a union? I think not.

  • I am from Europe and the children in public schools do not excell. The countries that have a voucher system in Europe have the best schools and the best performing high school graduates.

The kids and their parents can CHOOSE which school they want to patronise. Not all European countries have that system, but should.

  • @jakesegers

    HAHAH. So true.

  • exactly, its called our taxes and they steal it and take the choice away from us

  • Thank God for John Stossel!!

  • Teachers unions hurt public school kids! Get 'em John!

  • School Choice! Ron Paul supports School Choice, support Ron Paul for 2008. He'll make serious changes in our Country long overdo FOR THE PEOPLE and The Children!

  • SCHOOL CHOICE RULES!!! If we can ever get the teachers' unions to let go of their hegemonic power.

The poor support school choice overwhelmingly...it's the elitists that shut it down.

  • Why can't beaners make mexico a nice place?

  • Why can't Africans make Africa a Nice place.

  • Politicians won't allow it, government cannot let goof power.

  • Badly needed reform that will never see the light of day...
