@MCWAY1 I know why it was toned down. I know my history of ninja tutrles. it doesn't make the fight scenes anymore enjoyable to me and in my opinion, the fight scenes were better with a little more edge to them. The first movie was more the like source material in many ways and presented the turtels as they were meant to be.This is a watered down ninja turtles. Much like the first cartoon, it's still fun but leaves the fight scenes and edge lacking.

"Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow!". BTW, I actually remember that I used to take Kool-Aid Squeez-it bottles and strings and turn them into home-made "nunchakus" to be like Mikey. Good times, good times... :^)

@PlaymakerSeries epic false! The costumes are a downgrade. It's really silly and more comedic compared to the first movie, the violence is toned down, no Casey Jones, Shredder sucks in this one...need I go on? Like I said, I enjoy this movie in it's own way but in no way is this on par with the first film. Defininitly not same movie.

@OneCutAbove3 - @Pfield82 was right. The 1st one IS better than the 2nd. I'm probably in an EXTREME minority here... but I kinda liked the third one the best. I know that it's often hated on more than either of the first but it brings back memories personally & has always held a place in my heart. There's just something about TMNT3 that I love. The environments, & it brought back the seriousness of the first while maintaining the second's humor. I especially loved young Yoshi. To each their own.

They even got a girl who looked more like the cartoon April O'Neil. TNMT 2 is sillier and more kid-friendly. I like it a bit better than the first one.

On this film, it looks like Tatsu is the replacement for Krang and Tokka and Rahzaar are the replacements for Rocksteady and Bebop. However, I thought it would have been nice if they used Krang, Rocksteady and Bebop instead of Tatsu, Tokka, and Rahzaar since Krang, Rocksteady, and Bebop are more main characters on the cartoon. On the other hand, Tatsu, Tokka, and Rahzaar were never on the cartoon.

Despite creating them specificaly for the cartoon series Eastman and Laird didn't like the how the cartoon writers made made them into bufoons.

At the time the movies were supposed to lean more to the original Mirage stories with a few cartoon elements so used they used what little ceative leverage they had to keep Bebop & Rocksteady out of films.

Since the tone of the sequels went more towards the cartoon though they probably should've just let them use Bebop and Rocky.
