  • Lindaaaa essa canção maravilhosa estava louca atras dessa musica

  • WHY can't musicians today make music like this? This version in spanish and the englisg version by the Ray Charles Singers are the prime examples of prime music.

Throw in Gene Pitney, Roy Orbison and Jay Black's Cara Mia and you can have an evening of excellent singing and music.

  • Im 1 and I love it! Lolz

  • Oooooh....just look at that Guild F-50...*droooool*

  • I'm 14 and I love it!

  • I am 18 now and I still love this shit.

  • @divebomber93 You can still say "stuff" instead of "sh-t". However, I'm glad you do enjoy this kind of clean and very funny comedy.

  • @ 4:57 Tom looks at the pianist as if he's saying "Ha ha! NOW you're in trouble!"

  • Beautiful version for this song. Congratulations. See more here in my channel RITMOSYESTILOS (rhythms and styles) Thanks...

  • The Piano Player made me do it. I Swear. No really, comedy like this is classic. Comedy like this can not be found anymore and that is a sad thing.

  • the piano guy has some of those new "rapist-glases" on. im shure in privat he's driving a "serial killer van" and wearing a "there's-something-wrong-with-this-guy-hat".

no serious, awesome shows they made. i deiscovered them this evening (in germany) and they're so hilarious. totally charismatic and professional...also the piano dude ;)

we need more of this stuff today for the newer generations.

  • Lol, that piano guys looks shady to me! xD

  • Their voices are so highly trained. I was actually really getting into the song!

  • @CaramelCleo Why not, they're good singers!!!

  • @petekay62 so true :D

  • @CaramelCleo Even the "comedy" music is perfect. Shame there aren't more around.

  • I was pissed as Ricardo about the song being wrecked because it was all that he said it was and he was really singing it fantastically, but they do have their funny gags...

  • Laughed until tears were running down my cheeks, great!

  • A little louder please!.....LOL. great clean comedy!!

  • They sound so good together...I love how perfect it all is:

    1. Dickie has the voice for the tenor, and Tommy for the bass.

    2. Thier name rhymes perfect (Smothers Brothers)...I luv em! ^_^

  • Maravillosa versión de esta canción pendientes .... el canto es hermoso, la letra y la melodía son igualmente hermosos. ¡Qué buena música sobre gran músico. Gracias por fijar.

  • Beautiful rendition of Quando caliente el sol.

  • My wife is from Mexico and we went and saw The Smother's Brothers when they were playing in Jacksonville Fla. Dick was in the lobby talking to everyone and was very kind to everyone. I introduced him to my wife who had never heard of The Smothers Bros. in Mexico. He was wonderful enough to dedicate this song to my wife and we will never forget it. I show this to my wife's family whenever we go down to Mexico and it is very popular.

  • love it...

  • I have had the pleasure and also the privilege of knowing Dick Smothers, visiting his home and he visiting mine. Was surrealistic to watch a television legend in my living room playing with my then 2 year old daughter. Was such a pleasure to know him to be a very real man, not at all pretentious, sincere and a pleasure to know as a friend. Different to see his off stage persona, to be that of a funny man, unlike his more straight man character. God bless you Dick and Tom. Enjoy retirement.

  • Hahaha, true Gringo Spanish. :) They are great!

  • Quando =/= Cuando?

  • Man this stuff is timeless! And what stinks is that if someone were to try to bring this back, people would say, "Oh they're just trying to be like the Smothers Bros..." And they'll get ridiculed! People who try and bring this stuff back are shut down by the ones who want it back! Thats what has happened with my experience anyway...

  • When I first watched this I said; oh, how are they gonna ruin this one ? I had never laughed harder in my life; I love these guys.

  • "Take it, naked bacon. A little louder please." So funny. Where is this today?

  • Not only is their comedy fantastic, but their musicianship is better than a lot of 'musicians' out there today. This is a fantastic arrangement and the harmonies are great. They could be successful at legitimate musicians.

  • @Woody615 Personally, I think they are. with a lot more humour than most!!!! The harmonies as you pointed out are perfect..... more please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Copy url

  • O man, If you don't find this hilarious then you simply don't understand comedy!!!!! LMAO!!!!!

  • Rarely have I found any comedian to even compare with these guys, much less another duo. Classic.

  • ....the piano player told me to...

  • Why oh why did they wreck and ruin this beautiful song???? Fine fine comedy.

  • Not laughing is just not an option here :D

  • eu quase morro de rir com esses caras

  • first heard these guys on Xm radio classic comedy

  • Take it, naked bacon!

  • What incredible talent ! Used to tickle me all the time when watching them on Malaysian TV and i was only 6 or 7 years old then

  • lol you cant stop laughing...at all

  • I am 16 and I love this stuff.

  • heh! I'm 17 and I find this stuff more amusing as well!

  • @divebomber93 i'm 16 too! mom introduced me to these guys back when I was 10, and I've loved them ever since! ^_^

  • @divebomber93 I feel ya breh

  • @divebomber93 nearly 18, stil enjoy it?

  • The best straight man and moron in the biz. Very funny.

  • Check out Barbara Bush at or around .15 when they start singing!!

  • Still hilarious.

  • Had this on VHS for years.. aired on PBS back in the 80's. Have never been able to locate it.. PBS was very little help.. This is such an incredible program.. followed up by Mason Williams on the guitar. Wow.

  • This is soooooooo funny. I can't stop looking for these guys. Their hilarious. Poor wandering one is awsome too. Boil that cabbage down gets stuck in my head while I'm working, Their timing is tremendous. This is old time genuine talent.

  • hahahah i was just a child and i remember this!!!!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • I'm interested in buying a DVD of this show. Can anyone tell me the name of this particular performance. I only want the performance of the Smothers Brothers with the Boston Pops. Thanks!

  • I'm looking for this as well!

    /Benny

  • fenomenal, maranhilhosos,,,,,,,,,,,,,,amei

  • Is there a rating higher than "AWSOME"? Because this is FANTASTIC!!!

  • When the sun is hot at the beach?

  • I think it's When the sun shines on the beach...

  • any news where they're playing next?

  • Well they got through more of a song than I've ever seen. They were great, and still got is going on. Thanks for the post.

  • Saw them at the Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield Maine last night. From the opening to the final wave as they left the stage it was non-stop funny. Still sharp as ever and they owned the crowd from hello!

  • It's amazing (these days) that this type of comedy still exists. It's still as good as I remember the Smothers Brothers to be when I used to watch the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Not a curse word at all and still can make you roll on the ground laughing.

  • Well, Flight of the Conchords don't use swear words stronger than "mutha'uckas" and they are a contemporary band. Hilarious too. I agree though, the Smother Brothers are great.

  • The song is called " Cuando calienta el sol " it's spanish !!!

  • Just saw them Saturday night with the Charlotte (NC) Symphony and they were incredible! I laughed all night! They performed this and it was even funnier in person. Tommy is now 69 and Dickie is 71 and the years have taken nothing off their talent or humor!

  • I was on the front row right in front of Tommy. I couldn't have asked for a better seat. It was hysterical how Tommy kept referring to the conducter as George SCHRAAAAM. Great show!

  • When he switched to German in the middle of the song and then totally went off on his own tangent, I was almost crying! Not sure what's funnier: Tom and his antics or Dick standing there calmy watching. If I remember correctly, this was the same song that segued into "Dueling Banjos" with the pianist. I loved the video retrospective too. It really was a great night!

  • I lost it when he started yodeling. Then he started speaking in very broken Spanish and started imploring Dick by saying "Ricardo" slowly, like something off a Spanish soap opera. I'm glad I got to see them. "Dueling Banjos" happened during "Poor Wandering One"

  • They did this song when I saw them in Peekskill (much to my glee and delight). However, they hadn't done "Boil that Cabbage Down" which spawns the whole "Take it naked bacon" joke from this routine. So Tommy Smothers said something different, and I forgot what it was (I foolishly said "Take it naked bacon" under my breath).

  • I think Tommy said "Take it Dickey Smothers" when I saw them do this. Naked Bacon is hilarious

  • such amazing musicians

  • Didn't they do this routine on "Life with Bonnie" or whatever the name of that show with Bonnie Hunt was?

  • I'm pretty sure it was called The Bonnie Hunt Show and yes it is the same song, but I think Tom did more languages(they were janitors). I routinely look to see if somebody posted that clip.

  • Like a fine wine, the Smothers Brothers get better with age

  • I'm looking for a song by them where Tom thinks he is The Whistler, then the greenhornet, then Captain Marvel

Does anybody know what that's called?

  • It's "Lonesome Traveler" from the album "Curb Your Tongue, Knave." -- "I thought I was the Whistler...SHAZAM! I'm Captain Marvel!"

  • Si, tambien me gusta el pianista. Que divertido!

  • i just saw these guys live! does anyone know if they have any proformances on dvd? or their tv show on dvd?

  • Thank you, thank you. The first time I ever heard this song was when the Smothers Brothers performed it (guess I'm revealing my age...bummer).

  • Take it Naked Bacon! - SIMPLY PRICESS COMEDY!!

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

  • Muy buena interpretacion y muy comica esta presentacion!! their spanish is very good, lol

  • Priceless!

  • This is a great, Do you know were can I buy the DVD and What is the name of it?

  • This is a great sketch, I would like to see the rest of it where tommy does dueling banjos after a challenge from the piano player.. Classic stuff.

  • The video you're referring to is out here...it's called Poor Wondering One.

  • I never saw this one before, I just can't stop laughing! The piano player is priceless! I love these guys! Saw them live with Jack Jones back in '63 or '64! Still love 'em! Thanks for the post

  • Every time they do a sketch it's like they're doing it for the first time ... never gets old. And they pull it off perfectly over and over. True performers!

  • Cool! A danish group called Linie 3 with three dansih actors have also made this sketch. But they made that with the piano-player in another show in 2001, but it was not a piano-player. It was a drum-player called Niels Ratzer. And he told two of the actors Thomas Eje and Anders Bircow to reck a danish song called "Når lygterne tændes" (When the lights are lighting up)

  • Yeah.. I'm disappointed by Linje 3 :P

  • Bingo!

  • thank you soooooooooooo sooooooo much!

  • I like that slight venture into German at 1:48. It was so serious at the beginning, but then he said those words and then it became funny again! Thank you Tommy Smothers for ruining the mood!!! And yes, that was a compliment.

  • Lol, too true. :) Love these guys, and they still play today. :D

  • Too true. In fact, I think we're going to see them in Stanford, CT. I love "Mediocre Fred" and "Chocolate!" :D

  • Music isn't about race or color!

  • their voices blend so well!

  • Great show, wonderful memories.

  • I am glad to have seen them on "Life with bonnie" Otherwise I wouldnt have known of them... Sorta funny. I NEVER watched Life with Bonnie.. The ONE show I watched had them on it :D Musta been destiny.

  • olağanüstü . . .

  • Great post - great video - simply hilarious - They were great on the "Life with Bonnie" show - they did this routine then as well.

  • Singing straight (or almost straight, lol) is an ultimate treat from their fabulous voices

  • i truly love these guys, but MAN does Dickie sound like a white guy! heh...anyone ever heard of a coupla white guys called Bud and Travis? another 60's two guy team that did comedy and amazing music..lots of Spanish stuff too.

  • So brainless person, what is wrong with sounding like a white guy? The best singers in history have been white--you sound like a bigot.

  • have ANY clue what "heh" means? jeez, kinda sensitive maybe? get a real life. and go bitch at someone else.

  • I give that same look to my brother

  • :D I saw them friday night, and they did this routine. I love them! They are very funny and talented!

  • I saw them last night and they did it, but it's always just as good as the first time with these guys! I love it!

  • I saw the Smothers Brothers two weeks ago in St. Louis. They were a lot of fun and, yes, they did this routine.

  • Thank you!! I just saw The Smothers Brothers a couple of months ago, and they did this song, but I missed the title. I love it!!

  • they did this same bit at Just For Laughs Montreal and it was just as good, the piano man is priceless.

    thanks for the post
