The Bert Jansch (who wrote it) album this is off is well worth getting, Donovan was hugely influenced by and respectful of Jansch

Very strong voice coming from early day Donovan! I like hearing him sing strong message songs like this and the Ballard of Crystal Men as well as his soft tender sides. He sure has a lot to say. Thanks for posting the song!

This is actually a Bert Jansch cover. The "peace lovin' women" verse is Donovan's invention. He pushes the original first verse to the second and thus omits the original second verse.
