Do you think Caltrans workers don't already know when driving conditions are't optimal to slow down? There have been 174 deaths of Caltrans workers on the job. My husband is out there every single day risking his life to work on roads for drivers who only see them as walking road cones. That message needs to be passed along to the drivers who don't care if driving conditions are optimal or not...not Caltrans workers who risk their lives everyday because drivers just don't care.
