  • This was a brilliant show.

  • I dropped out of going to Scouts because of TV like this.

  • lol

  • Bare my arse and tell a few rugby jokes lol. Fantastic

  • Oh Shit! I forgot about this! this used to be totally 'my' show- when I liked it no-one seemed to watch it but it's fucking brilliant! i love mel's work - he is so stupidly underrated.... Iwish he would get angry again and write some society hating comedy.. its brilliant!

  • I love watching his confidence crumble during this speech, combined with his growing anger and feeling of rejection. Mel Smith is superb in this show. When most people think of 90's comedy, it's usually The Vicar of Dibley or other shows that are repeated ad infinitum, but this was an absolute gem of a series. Thanks for posting the clip.

  • Yeah I agree with everyone. This show was very underrated. Definitely worth a DVD release.

  • great show, it was a must-see each week when I was at Uni. Agree that it never received the accolades that it should have. Mel Smith is a very funny man.

    thanks for posting this clip!

  • OMG this show was so funny. I watched it in the mid-90s on public television here in New York. Funny, I'm often so much more nostalgic for British shows I used to watch than American ones. Thanks for posting!

Please check out our new music video,

    pop song, funny video

  • I agree with the comments about how good this show was. Yes, it should have run for longer. Quite a number of comedies were cut short in, about 1990. (Joint Account and A Gentleman's Club come to mind.) Who was it who took over as Head of BBC Comedy in 1990 ?

  • I loved this show it should have ran longer.

    Absolute class

  • Take away the laughter track and it could be the office.

  • Don't be ridiculous. Colin's Sandwich is far better. There probably was a laughter track on The Office but they didn't manage to record any laughter, only uncomfortable groans and people putting their hands over their eyes !

  • Thanks for sharing. Colin's Sandwich is perhaps one of the most underrated comedies from the BBC. I used to love it as a kid. K

  • oh i wish this was on dvd i miss it i remember when it was first on.

  • what is da point

  • Great comedy,nice one Mel!!

  • This was a great little comedy and long forgotten. Haven't see this clip in years, but makes me cringe even now.

  • Mel Smith is one of the Greats of British Comedy. He has recently also played Winston Churchill.
