America has enjoyable bands like Japan has. Also, culture plays a role in this too. This is geared towards the Japanese culture etc. In America, we have music geared towards the American culture :) I like bands from both parts of the world ^_^ thumbs up if you agree ^^;;
@draggt03 That's true, its only natural anothr culture would look at another and say "Hey, thats cool" just like we are doing now :) So Japan getting their influence from us isn't a surprise. It's just that it looks like they go extreme with their inspiration and make epic things like this. Then America gets their influence from diverse cultures so it depends on what American stuff you listen to. POINT IS EVERYONE: Every culture has music and good music is in the eyes of the beholder!
Why is everyone having an argument about an overrated, mediocre, American post-hardcore rock band on an awesome, Japanese Visual Kei band's song? I don't like seeing BVB written here, it's upsetting.
@Tincjin777@OtakuVodcast at a concert, after singing this song, he caught two guys fighting, so he stopped the whole concert to go outside and scold them and said that if he caught them fighting again he would never perform again. I would be scared to death... but also kinda jealous because they are right in front of him XD
I actually want to become a singer and have a visual kei look, possibly an inspired sound even though I live in the U.S. I think America needs a new sound; something more heart felt. I was thinking of doing a mixture of gothic metal, alternative rock, + jrock. It's something I rlly want to do cuz I want people to feel my music and for it to change there lives, and I am a girl. I think we need more female singers who R NOT worried about being a sex symbol but who are worried about their music.
@YomiYomi64 Uhm.. No, it isn't, since j-rock means "japanese rock" and visual kei also is an japanese "style", or what you want to call it. There may bands that are similar to the japanese bands, but since they're not from Japan they can't be called with the term "j-rock"/ VK.

@cresentdemon123 it's also hard to find people on japanese music forums who don't only divide between american and japanese metal. the whole fucking world is full of great metal bands, just check encyclopedia metallum on google you will find thousands ^^. besides, also america has great metal bands if you just search for it. just a tip from a metal lover :D

And their singer's voice is a little nasally on the first album, but not so much on the second. @FallenAngeal I'm sorry you feel that way :/ believe me its a hot topic amongst mth fans as well, they may be a japanese Korn but songs of theirs like tsume,tsume,tsume and buiikikaesu can ONLY be Jrock, american bands never pulled off songs like that, those guys care a lot about their music and i guess that is what matters to me. X japan is pure greatness as well but you also cant deny that their earlier sound strongly resembles western sound, songs like I'll Kill You and what not.
@sandmusiclove and about their sound its the same story, the sound doesn't belong to some one in particular, that's why we have music genders, i admit each band has this something that makes em unique. But doesn't mean several bands will have a similar sound. About what the blackrainbow said, he or she was just highlighting the raw, evident talent the Gazette has. Never insulted them. Only said that even without their looks they would still rock because of their music not just the appearance.

If you are, In many East Asian countries, music talent agencies look for both LOOKS and TALENT because appearance is very demanding in East Asian entertainment (Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan). If you are talented, but not attractive, you may be passed for a person who is attractive, but not as talented....which many Western musicians don't have to go through.

One reason I love Dir en grey so much is that their music isn't hidden behind fancy looks and moves anymore - they are great as is. Same thing with Maximum the Hormone. They are very down to earth.
@Nesveri But you can't deny their looks...Their music and appearance follow each other as a VK band. Though Diru isn't as visual as before, they are among one of the most respected bands out there for their hard efforts to promote the visual kei scene since the 90s. The way they look has NOTHING to do with the hard work, effort and the souls they put into their music.
music videos are supposed to be exciting and visually stimulating, this video is accomplishing just that. Now they could make a boring video so you and your cockriding thirty likes could be happy, but we all know that's not how visual kei works thank you

@FallenAngeal I'm sorry you feel that way :/ believe me its a hot topic amongst mth fans as well, they may be a japanese Korn but songs of theirs like tsume,tsume,tsume and buiikikaesu can ONLY be Jrock, american bands never pulled off songs like that, those guys care a lot about their music and i guess that is what matters to me. X japan is pure greatness as well but you also cant deny that their earlier sound strongly resembles western sound, songs like I'll Kill You and what not.

@sandmusiclove and about their sound its the same story, the sound doesn't belong to some one in particular, that's why we have music genders, i admit each band has this something that makes em unique. But doesn't mean several bands will have a similar sound. About what the blackrainbow said, he or she was just highlighting the raw, evident talent the Gazette has. Never insulted them. Only said that even without their looks they would still rock because of their music not just the appearance.

If you are, In many East Asian countries, music talent agencies look for both LOOKS and TALENT because appearance is very demanding in East Asian entertainment (Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan). If you are talented, but not attractive, you may be passed for a person who is attractive, but not as talented....which many Western musicians don't have to go through.

One reason I love Dir en grey so much is that their music isn't hidden behind fancy looks and moves anymore - they are great as is. Same thing with Maximum the Hormone. They are very down to earth.

Though Diru isn't as visual as before, they are among one of the most respected bands out there for their hard efforts to promote the visual kei scene since the 90s. The way they look has NOTHING to do with the hard work, effort and the souls they put into their music.
