i have 2 xti cameras --i wish the 40d had the 450d 12.2 mp sensor---why would i want to spend money on another 10mp canon ?bigger body,higher fps ?--what was canon thinking --are they friggen retarded ?they have a brand new 12.2mp sensor and they dont even put it in the great body 40d---stupid,stupid,stupid---i cant have the nikon d300 beating my camera image quality---ill take the xsi 450d thank you

Since I'm concerned about the fact that Canon is a monopoly in terms of DSLRs, I think I'd rather go for Nikon [D300] or even Pantax [K20D] despite the fact that the lenses are more expensive :)

i have lots of canon mount lenses so my choices are canon---i ,since my last comment changed my mind about getting the canon XSI 450d--i got the canon40d instead -- i just love it - ive done some shot for shot tests --and in all shots the 40d is very much sharper-i still have my 2 xti's but for all important shots i get the better results with the 40d--i like it alot

the 40d uses a cmos sensor which is alot better than your typical ccd sensor which the xsi uses

Nothing wrong with shooting it while open as long as you don't do something dumb like stick your fingers or a pencil in there, all it's gonna do is let some dust in which isn't hard to get rid of.
