I think that guy totally missed the point of the film. It's not like Tarantino's saying that the Americans were heroes in the film. In many scenes they were worse than the Germans! That's what I love about Tarantino. It's never that simple.
It was boring, I hated it. Quentin has done some awesome movies (for me) and some very lame (like that). It was nothing like I expected. I thought it would have more action. The trailer was, as always, much more impressive and promising than the actual movie.

Cenk makes some good points about how to end the cycle of violence..not with revenge or striking back but with kindness. Obviously the movie is sending the wrong message, but the interesting thing to note is that the actor's probably already know that but a lot of fans might not know that and take the movie literally.

This film was just more of Tarrantino's childish self indulgent rubbish, that anyone willing to sink that low could write. Granted it did have great acting support and some good dialogue, and scenes, i.e the bar scene, the surrender scene etc. But 80% of the movie was just Tarantino reinforcing his childish, anything goes, everyone must die in the most violent way possible repetitive bullshit, that is in all of his movies.

The "torture and cruelty," was the main point of what the Basterds were doing, which was trying to crush the morale of the Wehrmacht.
I agree with Cenk about it being a good movie, but by no serious interpretation of World War 2 did we "win it by being nice."
We firebombed every inch of Germany to get to Hitler, and the Russians raped and pillaged their way through Prussia for the same thing.
It may not have been "good" (if that makes sense in a war) but thats what happened.

Seizing of Jewish homes and businesses happened in broad daylight. The Reichstag passed laws declaring Jews as sub-human.

Cenk makes some good points about how to end the cycle of violence..not with revenge or striking back but with kindness. Obviously the movie is sending the wrong message, but the interesting thing to note is that the actor's probably already know that but a lot of fans might not know that and take the movie literally.

This film was just more of Tarrantino's childish self indulgent rubbish, that anyone willing to sink that low could write. Granted it did have great acting support and some good dialogue, and scenes, i.e the bar scene, the surrender scene etc. But 80% of the movie was just Tarantino reinforcing his childish, anything goes, everyone must die in the most violent way possible repetitive bullshit, that is in all of his movies.
Seriously I predicted what was gonna happen in pretty much every scene.

Inglourious Basterds can only be appreciated if you actually know something about World War 2, for example, the three second long, hilarious condemnation and summation of Vichy-France that probably flew right over your head.

I'm not interested in seeing Cenk (pronounced shank?) naked, but I'd give these Young Turds more of a thumbs up if they would just realize they weren't journalists, had nothing to say, and started filming porn. The female lemming-in-human-form is kind of hot. But even as movie reviewers, they fall short of the mark, and of course, they've obviously never read Spooner, Browne, or Molyneux. In fact, I doubt they've read "Common Sense". Their level of issue-comprehension not even 5th grade.

Actually in the movie the Basterds are sorta portrayed as the bad guys and lacked morals. Even though I loved them and wish they were in the film a bit more Taratino doesn't play them straight up as the "heroes", and they do alot of stuff you could consider even worse than the Nazis. So the movie isn't a straight up Nazi killing revenge fantasy flick.
