No as it turned out it was a electrical connector that had been detached at a garage, spent over £200 at a garage on engine mounts for nothing, thanks for your reply, Simon.

That's odd. Sorry for giving you the wrong advice and making you waste that much money! It couldn't of hurt thought. I find it kind of weird an electrical connector was making your engine move though?

Its not your fault I did it on advice of a few garages, I had a water pipe fitted which is when the shaking started after i spent all the money i had a look myself and noticed the connector was disconnected I connected it and it worked for a few hours then started shaking again let a local garage have a look and after he had a fiddle with the connectors it worked again and still works ok now so not complaining, the connector was attached to part of the fuel system, Thought of selling the car.

If has gone bad then yes, or it could just be you not shifting smoothly. The 3's motor mounts are there to dampen shakes etc. seeing that motor shake that much .. is a good thing, you don't want all that torque going through the cabin and into your seat do you? Shifting smoothly and treating the car right will keep the mounts from going bad, being rough and hard shifts (and just being old) can cause the mounts to go bad.

ok, now take a turn at 60, high rpm, feathering the throttle, youre going to get an excess ammount of shaking, which transfers weight, which can be a problem when driving it at autox, or at a track. Newer motor mounts help keep it still, so the power being delivered to the ground isnt as choppy and bouncy.

looks like perfectly good mounts. The car does seem in gear & if the wheels arent allowed to move whilst in gear the energy has to be transfered elsewhere at the weakest points, ie, the engine mounts in this case.
