LOL I love how you were like "I ain't about to stop in all this, I'm just gonna pass through" and ended up getting sucked into the spectacle! 10 minutes later and you're still there haha. That's the power of MJ.
thanks for taking out of your time to do this. i have never seen his childhood home. people need to remember he was a real person from a real neighborhood. I like to see these regular people that cared about him. i'm tired of seeing so much of the junk on t.v. thanks again.
Hey there, SGizzel! Thanks for sharing that footage with us! I'm sure you had no idea what you were going to be shooting before you drove up there! You gave a very good documentary about the area. Thanks for parking and getting out of your car and walking around so you could get a close-up shot of what was going on. That guy dancing was doing a great job! That's cool that you went to the high school right there! And it's cool that your Mom went to school with Jermaine!
Thank you for the footage. I'm from Gary myself and it's been a while since I've gone back. I'm happy that so many people came out to pay tribute to Michael.
Thanks for sharing. I came into Gary yesterday for the Memorial. I really hope that Gary does something special and permanant for Michael Jackson's story and legacy. It's the greatest American Dream Story... a young black kid from the humblest of beginnings taking his family into the stratosphere walking beyond the moon to international wealth & royalty and in the racially devided 1960s. Shows that we can do anything if we only believe & strive. RIP King Michael, the Worlds Greatest Entertainer!
there cousin still lives there.....joe jackson is still the owner and its been passed down the family.....i was able to talk to michael's cousin on this day...o and i was in that blue bus.....it was crazy....RIP MIKE.....
I really envy you for living near Michael's boyhood house..could you please tell me a litle bit about the memorial? was the casket actually driven by the house? did anybody got in the house? thanks in advance.
The casket was not driven by the house although the mayor of Gary, Rudy Clay, was petioning to have that done. He actually wanted Michael buried in Gary, but that was not going to happen. The memorial was cool....the footage speaks for itself.!! It's still going on right now.
I'm from Gary, Indiana. I went to high school 1 street over from 2300 Jackson st. @ Gary Roosevelt High School. My mother went to school with Jermaine and Jackie Jackson. She's also from that neighborhood. My uncle used to stay across the street from them. He's passed on.
This is awesome, thank you for sharing. We love you, Michael.
