This song is really a challenging one, but you played it almost perfectly. You should work on these rasgueados though. And is this just me or do you find the outro of this song really damn exhausting? =D
Holy crap, I never noticed the harmonics you added in at the end of the song.. The friggin timing it must have taken to fit that in between the body percussions and downstroke. Very nice!
I might dare say this sounds better than Antoine's version. Blasphemy? Jesus how do you play this song so clean. My cover of this song sounds like it was done by a retarded infant.
Wow, I really appreciate that. I love the guys music, and I can't help but play it with passion. Thanks! Michael Hedges??? Heard of him, but haven't listened to his stuff in a while. I'll have to scope him out. Thanks again!
Excellent playing Jake! Can I ask how long you've been playing? I've been playing for around 5 years now, and can really tell that you're a fantastic acoustic guitar player. Keep it up. Sometime around January I'm going to try and upload a cover of this song myself, along with Catching the Light, a better version of Glimmer of Hope, and Drifting (which I'm sure you know). 5* Keep in touch.
Thanks man! I've been playing guitar for around 11,12 years now. But I just picked up playing fingerstyle about a year or so ago. You should definitely upload a cover of this one! Great song! Glimmer of Hope is a great song too, I learned a little of that one but haven't played it in a while. Thanks again!
Sounds good man. Im diggin that sound you got in that room....though now i think about it you need a giant carpet along that back wall ..will help to get a deep rich tone. We should do a double acoustic version of this tune and post it. Although, I just clipped my nails....fellin pretty inferior w/my guitar atm. anyways, rock on mayne.
Dude, I tried to do that with a blanket but said the hell with it after a while. But yeah, that would help out a lot! We will do a doubles version soon. Grow them nails back out, I just reshaped mine so that they're a little more inconspicuous, but still are pretty effective and sound good.
Sweet bro! Not much to say about the playing.. it's pretty bang on.. The only couple comments I could say are: Watch out the rythm.. I know it's a really hard one for that though.. Also, when you play the tapping part at the end, when you go up to fret 8, play it with the 4th finger, hammer fret 7 with the 2nd finger and add that not from fret 3 on the last string before, it's on the 7th fret just under the one you hammer on. Lastly watch out for the nuances all along the song!
Thanks! I can actually play it the way Antoine does and as you describe, but I prefer to play it the way I have here. It makes it a little less boring for me to play. Thanks again!

I can't believe you're standing! Not that it's bad or anything, but I've always been sitting when I play.

Haha, yeah I usually sit, but I can do both. I've always felt that I get more emotion out when standing....idk.

hey bro great cover! do you happen to have the tabs for this or are willing to make one?
72fenderbender 2 years ago
Thanks man! I bought the tabs a while back but lost them somehow. I'd like to share with everyone but won't out of respect for the artist.
