  • That is cool!

  • Foarte interesant!

  • what simple ICs did you use to convert the analog to digital for the fpga? a ADC such as the PIC16F88?

  • Supertare, Tulai Doamne, Traiasca Poporul Prieten Ardelean !!!

si noi am facut tot felul de proiecte pe Altera DE2 la UPT.

    Spor in continuare !

  • Cool:)

How do you sense the hand moving?

  • The harp is constructed using several lasers and photo cells. Both of these are commonly available at Radio Shack. The amount of resistance across each photo cell is dependent on the amount of light hitting the cell. The amount of resistance decreases as the amount of light increases.

  • Alternatively, if you happen to block the cell's light source (the laser), the resistance across the cell increase dramatically. These analog signals can be converted into digital signals using simple ICs. The Nexys board reads these digital signals as inputs and then plays the sounds of the harp.

  • Thanks:)

    Lasers and photo cells.
