Working in the music industry...I have to say that Kent is the most pleasureable thing to have hit my ears in some time. It just stinks that it is so hard to get your hands on their CDs in the UK and USA! If they were played in the USA, they would be massive!

I got sent to Sweden for a month by the company I work for, heard Ingenting and been hooked since. Making it my personal mission to get this band played on the radio here in Ireland, they're too good to remain practically unknown here :o)

agreed. It's criminal they're unheard of in the UK too. They used to record their albums in English but for some bizarre reason gave up on us. They wipe the floor with Coldplay and all that indie landfuill we have to suffer.

They gave up because they felt that doing albums in both English and Swedish was taking its toll on the band. They decided to continue only in Swedish, and it was a great decision. Even though I'm native English I prefer the Swedish versions. I guess it's the UK and the worlds loss.

I totally agree that the Swedish versions are better. On the other hand, I would love to hear them play and be played in the rest of Europe. At least for them to join some more known festivals, if not touring non-Scandinavian Europe.

I heard it was the record company who stopped them releasing albums in english

They stopped recording in English after the record company said no an American release which the band had worked really hard to get. They felt like they were treated really unfair, seing as they got NOTHING back for their work. So they decided to never to english again. This is not entirely true, cause the song Duet (from V&A) excists as an english acoustic demo.

Other than this incident, Kent has a great cooperation with Sony BMG, so no hard feelings to them.
