Sandy Denny was sometimes an uneven performer, if we are honest, and for reasons which are unfortunate. However, he vocal skills on this, and on the album version of Tam Lin, show her brilliance in sustaining emotion in a difficult track. She will always remain one of the great folksingers. RIP....
@mistermousterian - i'm not sure which version this is exactly (most probably from sept '69) but in either case the recording date is after martin lamble died (may '69). (the other session's date is july '70)
Suffice to say of her..... sublime.
She and her compatriots in Fairport will forever resurrect fond memories.
