  • Zmed is beast!

  • I don't care if Carla (Gabrielle Bennett) isn't a musician in real life, I really like her because she's really pretty and I like her singing. To this day I have a big crush on her.

  • so who thinks kidd video, scott should have played brandon walsh on 90210 :)

  • Funny how Bryan Scott (the singer) had the same high voice as Justin Bieber, but he never received death threats.

  • @DevilMaster i think the perception of pop music wasnt so bad as now. We are post britney, christine augilera , lohan , women dancing around in their underwear and acting slutty in reality, era. And so when justine came along and got shoved down everyones throats he jsut triggered something in people. I'm not sure why though

  • @22centman36 I'll tell you why: back then, the Internet wasn't available to the public. The feeling of anonimity that the Internet provides (it's not *real* anonimity, but the feeling is there), together with the knowledge that everybody has an audience on the Internet, turns even the nicest person into a complete douchebag. So people sent death threats to Justin Bieber just because they could, and they did not send them to Bryan Scott just because they couldn't.

  • @22centman36 pop music in tha 80's was awesome, don't compare it to the crap on radio now

  • you know how things are so cool at that moment ......than you look back years later and say wtf lol ....i just had a moment

  • what a min...where's Carla (Gabriele)?

  • @es2903 I was just about to ask the same thing! Why is she not there?

  • @es2903 The answer to your question is this, for what I knew is that Carla(Gabrielle Bennett) is not a real musician however she can sing and when I saw this clip I was shocked to me without her, there is no band Kidd Video.

  • OMG, the totally gay 80's. Yes that kind of gimmick was acceptable. What the fuck was I thinking??????

  • @rikellehardy Tottaly Gay!

  • @WizzoPro9476 I wish these guys are hot

  • @rikellehardy I rock group was created as the basis for cartoon show - how is that gay?

  • it could be a backing track with live vocals. the music has the same dynamics as the show track, but you can hear at the end the drummer is still wacking on his drums after the music faded out, so Im guessing live vocal and drums, and a backing track, but thats cool. I love the Kidd!

  • Ah *0's lip sync

  • YOU KNOW.......NO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE I TALKED TO WHO GREW UP IN THE 80'S DONT REMEBER THIS BANDS CARTOON..........MAN I USE TO RECORD THIS AND WATCH IT TILL IT START TO BLURR........I COULDNT BELIEVE ROBBIE WAS IN THE BRADY'S AND DID YOU KNOW KIDD WAS IN A VIDEO DOCUMENTARY FOR JANET JACKSON.......THEY PUT A DIFFERENT LAST NAME BUT YOU WOULDNT EVEN RECOGNIZE HIM.........

  • @frankenstein2010 i know right? NOT ONE of my friends remembers this show or band. and i'm thinking ARE YOU NUTS??? this was a GREAT SHOW???? i THOUGHT that guy in the doc looked familiar. a little heavier but still same dude. i thought maybe brian scott was a stage name and mancini was his REAL name. but i could be wrong.

  • Oh, goodness. I was a kid with a crush on Kidd when I first saw this. I can picture myself now, a pudgy, glasses-wearing pre-teen: "OMG! SQUEEEE!"

Actually, Bryan (Kidd) is still quite crush-worthy to my grown-up self.

  • I remember Kidd Video from back in the day. And this version of Dance Fever was cool too, even though they took it off too soon

  • seems like a WHAM song, but i love it anyway.

  • @AnnamariaLakme actually it's a Supremes cover.

  • @ramennoodlechef ahahahahah!! My mistake ;) a famous musician of the past said:"in the end we are talking about the same chords", meaning that many songs may look alike and one's greatness is to create music with as more combinations as possible.

    KIss

  • they need kidd videos on DVD !

  • OMG! I had a huge crush on Bryan Scott!!!! I never missed an episode of Kidd Video.

Too funny. Wonder if he still lives here in Vegas?

  • this so cool thanks

  • Wished Dance Fever was broadcasted on UK Television. Please let me know if it was. I should have watched it as I am a fan of Adrian Zmed!!

  • Sorry bub. Not Lip synced....

1 The horns are all Synth.

The drums are rototoms digital drums.

And they didnt have the tech bsck then to produce the "live echo" lipsync effect that myley yrus and other fake use today...

Also.....you should probably learn about acoustics.

  • they could have had the girl play the drums in the live performance too because this is lip synced too its more than obvious when i hear horn sounds but no one is on stage playing them

  • the guy playing bass guitar w/ the glasses is Oliver from "The Brady Bunch." LOL!

  • how did Adrian Zmed ever become famous or poplar, the 80's what an odd decade ....

    great fun old show

  • SHUT UP!!! WHERE DID U GET THIS?? OMG thank you so much for posting this. I think i saw this but i dont remeber OH thank you! COOL!

  • the singer was so cute!

  • isnt that brady bunch cousin oliver with the geetar?

  • Yep! That's him. His name is Robbie Rist.

  • dude, that's funny!..i'm falling out of my chair!..thanks for the comment!

    kidd video forever!...

  • where is the drummer girl??

  • Carla was not a REAL MUSICIAN .... she was an actress that played a part .... the rest were REAL MUSICIANS .... thats why they never focused on the drummer when they were live .... she just did the videos for tv ....

  • She wasn't a real musician but she COULD really sing. It's true she didn't really play drums.

  • @Tornado1994 How do you know? Do you have proof?

  • AY-AY-AY! No Gabrielle?!

  • What I find adorable about the guy who plays Kidd is that, based on this video and the oens I've found of the old show, it's clear he only actually has two expressions. One that's completely blank, and the sneering, "tough" one. Like a kid playing at being a rockstar. he was too cute- it's a shame he wasn't a better actor- I wonder what he looks like now?

  • In the late 90s he was a little bit chubbier and he had beard'n older but pretty much the same. Its said that he works as a avoice actor and doing bad but he's not poor either.Even thouhg Gabrielle did vanished from the screen I've haven't got any info about her since like 96 it was said she played a nurse on a sitcom but nothing is confirmed.Steve Alterman and Robbie Rist are still working in music business and doing fine.I wishthem the bests of luck to all four of them wherever they are

  • Hmmm....this version gives Soft Cell a run for their money! I'm a bit confused on how to feel about that! ;) LOVE them both!

  • always loved that jacket...same one as in the video!

  • Um, that's not Carla on the drums =/

I'm so dissilusioned! I thought every member of every band based on a kid's show could play the instrument they play on the show!

    =P

  • I feel the same. Without Carla(Gabrielle), I am more focused on their "lip-suynching" of their instruments and vocals. But, still, no matter how cheesy people may think that instrument is, KEYBOARD GUITARS ROCK! May they never come back..but they ROCK!

  • Carla was an actress .... not a real musician .... the rest were musicians that were hired for a cartoon / she was a fill in when they couldn't find a female drummer and she looked good with the band ...

  • So Gabrielle faked it?

  • YES ... she faked it . Thats why she ain't onstage & there's a male drummer. We all knew she was a FILL IN but we didnt care .... she was HOT !!

  • Where is Gabrielle?

  • WOW I Love Kidd Video!! I saw all cartoon!! And when I was a child Kidd was my first love!

  • Kidd Video were pretty popular in Israel..they even tour there as a matter of fact. You can't even find their album, which was also released in Israel, too.

  • Wow...their no Meneudo are they? I love the clothes though. I think I had a shirt like that once...

  • WOW!! The double Wammy!

    Kidd Video AND Adrian Zmed!!

    I can't take it! It's too great!!

  • where's the chick

  • Carla wasn't actually a drummer. That's where she was.

  • what this clip needs now is that dancing richard simmons robot from the simpsons.

  • Toolbot:this WAS from "Dance Fever" (next-to-last season [1984-85] with Adrian Zmed as host;the show ended the following year).

  • I love this show,too ~

And it is still performed on TV now~

  • hey where's the rest of the band?

  • Don't you love 80s fashion? You could smell the mid 80s from this video, though. So cheesy, I love it. Really, I don't know what Diana would say at all...

  • oh dear lord, honey... that is some outfit.

  • ok, I poked around on youtube and there are clips from the actual show "Kidd Video", these are the same people. The only one missing from this clip is the hot latina "Cara". She wasn't a musician in real life but in the show she was the drummer for this ficticious band. She did really sing on the show so I'm wondering why they didn't just have her do vocals for these promo performances?

  • THAT'S RIGHT, She really DID sing!

  • Yes .... we know ......

  • never heard of Kidd Video!! they sound cool...

  • I swear I used to watch a cartoon back in the day called kidd video and they always featured one current pop video during the show. I remember the theme song to the show contained the lyric "From my radio to my video". Can anyone confirm this? Is this the same kidd video???

  • yes there was a cartoon back in the early 80's called Kidd Video.

  • Yes, dear...this is "Kidd Video" from the '80's.. :)

LOL, my favorite part of each episode was to see what musical group had been "kidnapped" to the "flipside" !!!!

    I *LOVE* Youtube !!!

    *hugs*

    LadyM

  • Diana Ross & The Supremes would either be impressed or that Kidd Video butchered their song.

  • Kidd Video had some great tunes even for a mild MTV-kids like show. I have to admit I like Kidds(Bryan Scotts) voice a lot and Ive been trying to collect all the KV songs. I have most of them. I think that there was an innocence and great innovative time of the 80's music that I miss ANd yes androgeny was getting bigger too :) I still love it though. Love Kidd Video (Last thing I saw -*heard*- Bryan Scott was in was the movie DEAD PRESIDENTS in 1996)

  • He was an extra, I believe, in Some Kind of Wonderful(1987)..

  • Bryan and Steve, minus Gabrielle and Robbie, were in Some kind of wonderful :)

  • What are you talking abou? That's Robbie on the guitar.

  • I NEVER thought I'd be able to see this again - thank heaven for YOU TUBE! AHHHHH, my eighties hotties!

  • Way too much eye-liner for a guy.

  • The "Kidd" character, at least in the music-vid segments, did have a fairly androgynous quality about him.

  • it seems wrong that they are singing a Supremes song. LOL I don't know, its funny. They were all cute!

  • *lmao* Dance Fever was the 80s poor man's version of American Bandstand. Awesomeness!

  • Houston had to settle for that poor man's version up to September 1, 1984 (when Bandstand finally came back to Houston after 25 years).

  • Wow! Thanks a hell of alot for posting this, man! You rule!!!!

  • Adrian Zmed is like 50, he looks good for his age; he was in his late 20s then

  • the dude with blonde hair and glasses is Cousin Oliver from the Brady Bunch

  • His name is Robbie Rist.

  • who's the idiot on th drums?

  • I meant aged pretty quick.

  • Adrian Zmed looks very young here. I saw him not too long ago on VH1's I Love The 80s Strikes Back and the commercial about the dogs. Boy, he aged pretty now. He looked young in the 80s, though.

  • I love how these supposedly "live" songs fade out at the end and the audience begins clapping.

  • Yeah, when the song sounds exactly like the studio version, you know it's a lip-synch.

  • Gabrielle coulda faked it, I mean its not like they werent using a track. All the shows did it back then. Didnt Kidd Video tour intact overseas? How did they fake the drumming then?

  • i dunno ask ashley simpson or milli vanilli how they did it..

  • I can't believe the actress that played Carla didn't really play drums. She did a good job of faking it on the show! Yeah they should've had her on there and they could've found a way of faking it for this performance.

  • where was carla i know there a guy on drums.
