  • The sun has set on the NWA AFA and AFA's days are numbered. All a revote will do is delay the inevitable-just look at what happened with IAM and simulator technicians. Even many formerly pro-AFA FAs have said they'll vote no in a recount. AFA back off!

  • i voted NO

  • interesting

  • Hey jarrodsings, and how many Delta flight attendants have been outsourced in the last 80 years? Maybe you need to educate yourself!

  • soisister, that's the AFA way: suppression, oppression, and attacks to anyone exercising their right to free speech. AFA doesn't want their dirty secrets exposed.

  • I did not realized that NWA FA pay was so much more than Delta counterparts. I had just assumed that DL pay rates were acually higher.

  • Best of luck to you, and to all of us with contracts in negotiation.

  • Just wondering why SJZAYAC and littleada95 have had their comments removed???? Is this not a forum for comments good or bad. Personally I agree with RedTail, nothing more productive to do with your constituents dues than this??? I don't want my money wasted!!! As for the Scope Grievance, thanks, NO WAY IN HELL, AFA!!!!

  • Thanks sister! They like to play on Facebook as well. In fact, here's an example. I posted a comment on an anti-AFA Facebook page regarding a question that I had emailed to my local President and VP on three different occasions, receiving no reply. Within 1 hour of posting that (mid-day during the week), I received 2 calls and 4 emails from AFA base leadership from MSP, SEA and LAX. I'd rather give my dues to a charity, where I know it would be used wisely. Like you said, NO WAY IN HELL, AFA!!!

  • It's unfortunate that you weren't contacted properly, however, why don't you offer your time and help to YOUR union? AFA needs ALL of our flight attendants to work properly and $43/month is hardly anything to pay considering how much more protection/pay we retain over our DAL counterparts. It could always be better, but it cannot be without each and every one of us doing our part to ensure it's success.

  • @jarrodsings What a BIG FAT HYPOCRITE you are! You've gotten paid 120 hours a month plus expenses to be offline full time and you dare to tell others to donate their time?!?!? You crazy man! Just another example of why we don't need AFA and their money grubbing staffers.

  • @patnofriend: resorting to name calling is not only childish, but unproductive. I have NEVER been paid 120 hours/mo. I am paid 92 and haven't turned in expenses in about a year! Please state facts, not rumors. I am available 24/7 and have done a lot to help build and maintain the campaign because I believe in the cause and the benefits of having representation. AFA is based on a member mobilization/participation model. I have volunteered my time as have countless others to ensure prosperity

  • for our co-workers and those who share our proud profession. There are only a handful of activists working on the campaign who are off full time or getting paid for time. Many have turned down the pay including a the Delta flight attendants as they too believe representation is the right approach. As far as outsourcing goes, it's not just about the past, it's about the present and future. Many of Delta's departments are outsourced and while you think that has no implication on you career...

  • It does. The landscape of the industry is changing and airlines are on the path to become global entities, i.e., (Air France/KLM merging with Delta). Lobbyists on both sides of the ocean are asking our gov't to allow increased ownership of airlines by overseas investors which would allow our company to be majority owned by foreign investors. Without representation, we could be at the mercy of their wishes. Think about cruise ships and how many Americans you see working on them. We need to have

  • someone advocating on our behalf whether its in the workplace or protecting our profession in D.C. We can't do that alone. Also, if you're upset about the amount of money activists are being paid, please inquire about what Delta is paying attorneys to fight unions and how much they spend on lobbying against your insterests. That's YOUR money being spent against you. While I respect your right to chose what you prefer, I cannot respect ignorance. Please educate yourself before making accusations.

  • The parts filmed in SLC were done on an off day with volunteers. Thanks to those who care enough about the cause to care.

  • Actually, I was NOT paid for this song. My band and myself did it because we BELIEVE in the cause to bring fairness to the workplace and an opportunity for flight attendants to take ownership of our careers. And perhaps you should educate yourself on exactly what scope is. Having it helped protect the NWA flight attendants from outsourcing. All unionized flight attendants and pilots have scope language in their contracts for a reason. Protecting our professions.

  • Wow, so this is what AFA has been up to lately? Far be it from them to do anything productive and worth while with our dues....

  • I am a Northwest Airlines RETREE. I finished training in 1965. We had so much more freedom and respect because we had the UNION behind us.

Wake up! This is not 1965 anymore. Your executives will do anything to make more money for themselves and much less for you, the front line workers. This pay increase I have read about for "non-union workers" is a brainwashing tactic. DO NOT FALL FOR IT! We, at Northwest had it so much better than you can ever imagine because of being union.

  • Thanks everyone for the kind comments. Just remember, we are represented everyday of our lives where we live (school boards, park boards, etc). Just because we don't interact, call or write to them doesn't mean they're not working on our behalf to make our cities better places. Representation at work is the same thing. You may not call, vote or ask for anything, but you certainly have someone who is working to better your workplace who provides checks and balances and ensures you have a voice.

  • AFA does not speak for me, either.

  • we have such great people here at the new delta. the union is our family! denise nelson msp purser!

  • Thanks Jarrod!!! Very well done =)

  • Jarrod, Thank You! I know for 31 years I have been proud of the respect I have received, BECAUSE of what the Unions have done for us, to make sure we received pay protection, job security, insurance, and RESPECT!

  • I know for 31 years, I've been proud of what a "flight attendant" stood for, BECAUSE of the respect I received due to my contract!

  • Jarrod Amazing! Way to spread the word!

  • This video is brilliant and and it says so much in such few words. It trumps dozens of Velvet Rropes and company antiunion tactics. Thanks

  • Thanks Jarrod. You and what you do inspires us all. Great job!

As for union representation, there is not a choice. It is the only way to have a voice in the largest airline. It is CHEAP insurance in these times, And for those who do not have a lot of seniority, it IS your chance to continue in a carreer you must want. Out sourcing IS YOUR enemy. Without representation, your carreer just may be cut short.

  • Awesome!!!!

    WE ARE AFA!!!

  • I loved it. Thanks to everyone who made this. The words say it all!!

  • @jetpufff

It's not fair for you to make that blanket statement....over 40% of PMDL f/a voted yes in the last election. It wasn't a majority or enough to win, but they mean some people did want a contract. And now that we have 7000+ more f/a on the seniority list, the majority of who will vote yes.

  • Yes!! Time to liberate the OLD Delta from that master/slave mentality of the OLD South!! The NEW Delta--ONE GREAT AIRLINE!! :) Remember who has set the INDUSTRY STANDARDS that the "pay raises" are being brought up to!!!

  • @70sdreamin >>>

    Yeah? Who? Not afa.

  • @TITANSQUEEN UNIONS

  • ALL workers at DELNWA should UNITE as this songs says. GREAT THEME...

  • Another great video! Thank you to all that participated. Let's start a letter writing campaign to the NMB to get this vote moving. Yes we can!

  • Thanks Jarrod and everyone great job! Welcome AFA! It is our time and we are ready for our Industry Leading Contract!

  • jetpuff,

AFA is here. Your new flying partners are members of AFA. Why don't you welcome them into the family? Hating gets you a bad rating.

  • What a great video! Thank you to all the flight attendants involved in its creation! A wonderful and very true statement .

  • Fantastic song! What an amazing voice Jarrod has. If this is the "Year of the Voice" for all of us Delta FAs, we are so fortunate to have talented flying partners like Jarrod to help us 'shine'. GREAT JOB !!!
