  • better than original

  • Meglos version?

  • Nice idea. Maybe in addition, you could lay the credits on top - first in the Times New Roman format for the tunnel, switching to the Neon font for the starfield.

  • I think it was actually some variant of Arial.

  • It was Arial Rounded MT Bold

  • Damn, that was good.

  • coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool......... groovy

  • Say... dos anyone have the original ending? I liked it if its all the same to you.

    Liked this, too.

  • Because its The Five Doctors.

  • The Five Doctors was from Davisons era....

    Not Pertwee's.

  • Yes. But this is a replacement credits. So if all the Doctors at the time were in it, then the credit ending would look really cool if it had Pertwee's intwinned with Davisons.

  • That wos TOM'S Credits roll.

Pertwee's looks like Tom's opening played backwards.

  • That was John Pertwee.

And they aren't "gay", They're Howlaround.

  • Yeah; but you don't have to call 'em gay.

Gay means "Happy", or these days, "homosexual".

I don't think they exhibit any traits of homosexuality.

    SO THERE.

  • Nice fade between the two closing sequences!

  • Ya know, this would've fit well on the last episode of "Shada". That is, had it been made!

    ~James!~

  • Is there any footage of Shada available to watch anywhere?

  • Is the first half of this video the actual closing sequence from most of Tom Baker's era, or is it a loop of part of the equivalent opening sequence? I'm betting it's the former, as surely otherwise the 'light' in the middle would be white, not black! In fact, if it IS a clean version of that closing sequence, could you upload the sequence?

  • Someone needs to make a title sequence with all appropriate faces for all the multi-Doctor episodes (the Three, the Five, the Two, and Time Crash). In the style of the '80s, of course.

  • Nice cross fade between the two versions at 38 seconds. Well done!!

  • correct best fade ever!!!

well the best 1 i'v ever seen!

  • That's brilliant, the Howell theme works well at this pitch as well

  • Very cool! I like the pitch drop.

  • Hey nice work!

  • May I ask how mutch you dropped the pitch? Glad someone else spotted the 1 second clean loop of the time tunnel from the beginning of the Tom Baker title sequence. Good stuff. You can't beat time tunnels starfields and the Dr Who theme.

  • Cool! "The Five Doctors" was one of my fav Doctor Who stories!

  • Fabulous stuff. Love the way the time tunnel is reversed a la Pert2, and the pitch shifted seguay down to the right key is perfection! Nice job!

  • I used the five dooctor part and this and when it got to the credits i turned it down and when it got to the howell theme i turned it back up!

  • I've always liked Howell's theme, but it sounds so much better dropped down in Derbyshire's key.

  • I agree! Did you know that Peter Howell moved the theme up two semitones for his rendition due to technical limitations of the equipment he was using? The keyboard on the Yamaha CS-80, which he used to make the bassline, didn't have enough keys to play the bassline on the lowest octave, so he moved it up to where he could.

  • Yeah, I thought that. Of course he could have just put the CS-80's pitch 'footage' setting from 8 to 4 and then played it in E, but there you go.

  • the music sounds slowed down

  • It's not. I just did the opposite of what they did on the show -- on the show, they pushed the Derbyshire theme up to the pitch of the Howell theme, whereas I took the Howell theme down to the pitch of the Derbyshire theme. It sounds slower because it's lower, but it's the same speed.

  • u should give a go at a new 5 doctors title sequence! same sort of fade from old to new! n possibly add each doctors face!

  • Hmm... thanks for the idea! I might just try that!

  • tis is really good! theme theme is miles better than the one actulay used! i know it used the old theme but they did something weird to it!

Where u get the uncredited titles from!

  • Thanks! The original credits raised the Derbyshire theme up to Howell pitch, but I did the reverse, lowering the Howell theme to Derbyshire pitch. I think it sounds better this way. Also, they used the original 1963 Derbyshire theme, whereas I used the more traditional 1970 closing theme. As for the titles, I made the Tom Baker era titles myself using a loop from the opening, and I got the blank Peter Davison era credits off the Resurrection of the Daleks DVD. Hope that helps!

  • cool! unfortunatley i dont hav a way to rip it off my dvds! n i think the 1970 was definatly the better choice! the baker era rules
