@myzootube16 How do you get them to eat so readily? I have a cane toad, Hermione, that I bought from a pet shop in the UK but I am not sure of her origin. She eats medium sized locusts and once took a (dead) pinky but she seems to go dormant in the winter months and has never had a 'feeding frenzy' like your guys in this video. She seems to be rather picky and only eats one locust a day and then it takes some doing. Her substrate is moss and she has a hide and water. Thanks!

@grumpymouth79 What we do is feed them once or twice a week. We typically feed them a few mice and up to 40 large roaches. We should probably feed them more but we aren't focusing on breeding or anything like that right now. I would stick with what you have. They do really like a humid enclosure so I would make sure you are focusing on that too. I am sort of suprised she is acting dormant during those months but she may be getting cooler depending on the location of enclosure. Hope this helps.

How many cane toads do you have in there, and what is the area of it?

@bufothetoad1 We had about 15 Barbados Marine Toads in there. The space is about 3 feet wide by 5 feet. There are now at least 12 Suriname Marine Toads in that particular enclosure.

If one of them ate a big enough wood chip that would be terrible, and it could die. I suggest switching to moist dirt, or coconut fiber.

@NagaJolokiafied That would be terrible but they always spit the wood chips out. Even if they have a roaches and wood chip in there mouth they some how maneuver it in there mouth so they can swallow the roach and get the chip out of there mouth. Thanks for the concern though!

@myzootube16 lol dunno if you know but in australia (queensland an now also northern territory) Cane Toads have become an Invasive species.. But many ppl love em all the same if anything its like something queensland has something that no other state has in australia (or wants) I think it is awesome how they are kind of evolving an getting bigger an getting longer legs to travle futher faster, next thing you know theyll have a sub'species branch off thats the size of fuckin wallabies xD

@h4tchetman I do know about this, but certainly don't think its awesome. Cane Toads eat any living moving critter that can fit inside of its mouth. They are putting a hurt on Australia's native frog species as well as other animals. I have heard in some parts of Australia that if you go to a bar with a sack of dead or alive cane toads their bar tender will give you a free beer. Not sure if that's true but I do know most Australians hate them.

@h4tchetman We actually got these guys imported from Barbados, and we recently got some bigger ones from Suriname. I'm in the process of shooting a similar video to this but with toads that are over 15 inches in length (legs stretched out). Not sure about the ones you have seen but the Suriname Bufos are the largest I've seen.
