The pups in the Xiphos are DiMarzio D Activators, and I have no clue where you heard that Ibanez has bad pickups, but you heard wrong, they have quite nice pickups.

Ibanez pick-ups are either dimarzios or modelled after dimarzios

The Dimarzio D Activators are Amazing, it's a very hot pick up, but not too hot that it gets to muddy

it's great for Metal

@MichaelAngeloCastelo There are some Ibanez pickups that aren't all that terrific. I own a S570DXQM and I'm not all that thrilled with the infinity pickups. =/
