Well I have a problem with your desire to convert Jesus to a gentile, he was not a gentile but a jew! You need not like him but regardless he is a jew. Israeli communities need not accept him as their pride, prophet or friend but don't lie and say he was not a jew -that is unworthy of any Jew. In the early '70's I supported Jews for Jesus,attended a messianic fellowship, in addition to my regular church. At the time, the messianic movement was mainly a missionary outreach to unbelieving Jews by "completed" Jews. As a gentile, I enjoyed understanding my Christian faith by learning the significance of the feasts etc. The Jewish believers gave me a depth of understanding. I am shocked now 35 years later, to learn that these fellowships have broken off into a separate movement.

Hi newtubber77 - Yeshua is the Lamb of God and he was the final sacrifice. There are no more sacrifices for the Jews. Yeshua paid the price for the whole world's sins, past present and future. He was presented at Passover fully man and fully God, perfect, sinless without spot or blemish. I am a gentile believer and my prayers go out to the Jewish people whether Messianic or not. As a Christian I want them to find Jesus (yeshua) as their true Messiah. Unfortunately, a lot of anti-semitism in church history has made this difficult. So the best I know is to pray for them.

I agree for the most part. I see nothing wrong with Messianic Judaism as long as those in the congregations do not separate themselves from Gentile believers in Christ. Unfortunately, many Messianics do separate themselves from Gentile Christians and this is wrong.

I disagree about the "rabbi" title though -- I see nothing wrong with it. Looking at the context of Yeshua's words, he is saying that we should call no man rabbi because there is only one rabbi (Christ.).

Although I am a Gentile Christian, I believe Messianic Jews represent the true spirit of Christianity as it should have been practised. As an apology, European Christianity was the convertion of sun-worshiping pagans to Christianity who seem to have clung onto some of their traditions. It is not that Christianity became pagan, but that pagans became Christian. Yes, many pastors admitted that there are problems with December 25th etc, but they do not know how to change centuries of tradition.

Lots of misunderstandings. Apostle Peter & Paul's gospel was always for the Gentiles - where the "burden was lightened". Apostle Matthew & James the Just (brother of Yeshua) gospel was packaged for the Jewish community which was more rigourous & Torah observant. We dont have to be separate even in a Messianic church. If you look at the laws that Yeshua covered in the Sermon on the Mount, he is setting laws that are comparable to the Laws of Noah. If Gentiles follow these laws we can gather with practicing Messianic Jews. St.Paul even touched on these laws in the meeting concerning the "Judaizers" in not eating strangled animals....etc. Messianic Jews are everything the Jews should have been. These things will only divide us if we allow them to.
