Listen up, while polyunsaturated fats have been shown to be healthy and protective against cardiac arrhythmias, other studies have shown unsaturated fats like those found in nuts, avocado and some vegatable oils, especially olive oil do increase the risk of coronary atherosclerosis leading to sudden heart attack due to plaque formation blocking off arteries. If you eat a lot of these things, take vitamin E which is protective.

  • I'm cutting so I keep track of carbs and proteins and at the end of the day I subtract the sum of carbs+protein calories from total calories and divide the number by 9 and I get the grams of fat. Usually it's around 60-70 is this good?

  • Wait, you guys are bulking and you only take in 3000-3200 calories a day?!? I'm 135 lbs 5'10" and all of the calorie calculators say I need at least 2700 calories to maintain my weight, and I need around 3000-3200 calories to gain 1 lbs a week healthy. How are you guys only needing 3200 calories while BULKING?? I'm confused mane can someone help me here?

  • @PThug911 You have to adjust your bulking caloric intake according to your metabolism. If you have a low metabolism, you do not need to have as many calories, whereas if you have a furnace (high metabolism), you need to continuously feed it to maintain the fire; so you need to have a HIGH caloric intake. Therefore, you cannot compare their caloric intake with yours, because each of you have different metabolism levels. Hope this helps!

  • @PThug911 Im 165punds and my BMR is around 1900. Im not sure about how active you are, but 2700 seems like a shit load. 1600 -1700 seems like a better range for you, since we are pretty much the same height. If you havent been lifitng for very long, you dont have to worry about bulking, just maintaining weight, but If you have, just eat 300 - 500 calories over your BMR.

  • they get 600 kcal from fat = 600/9 kcal pr. gr. fat = 66,6 gr. of fat... not 100-150... Be careful with fats... get them later in the day instead of your carbohydrates but keep the portion size.
