  • i love the kings gambit, grat game

  • Hi KC. Instead of 5. Ng5, may I recommend Ne5 with a similar idea instead? But in this case you have the option of taking on g4. Good game though!

  • KC, with the 2105 player Djole0 meant you! not ur opponent ;)

  • The opening I love to watch you play the most by far, the King's Gambit. It's the most entertaining of all the openings imho.

  • great game, nice tactics...it's such a dynamic line that you played with the King's gambit...till move 16, I believe, black had only developed his black square Bishop...beautiful game, thanks a lot KC...cheers!

  • nifty mate ,I missed that

  • Great game, love your enthusiasm.

  • Also, I like it when you keep using king's gambit when the chance arise. It's made good fun games, even if we botched up the opening :) Sometimes blunders and inaccuracies are made to make chess games fun instead of mental draining games.

  • I was surely glad that I saw Rg7+!! rook sac for mate about 30 sec before you even consider it. Playing tactic trainer on chessdotcom helped me a lot on that spot. And as for the King's Gambit opening, that knight sac is a standard opening gambit. However, you were recommended to take the pawn on g4 immediately with queen if you were to win it before the bishop's diagonal is opened.

  • Fantastic

  • Good fun!

  • very nicely played KC, and cool finish.

  • 5 Ng5 is the Allgaier gambit. (5 Ne5 is meant to be the safer 'mainline') Whilst considered 'unsound' it has enjoyed a fresh look because of 5...h6 6 Nxf7 Kxf7 7 Nc3! Apparently aficionados of the KG consider this stronger than 7 Bc4. There are a couple of chesscafe articles on this.

  • Wow! Very entertaining! Mr. Jones actually played pretty well (played 1st or 2nd best moves) until 13 ... Be6, where the engine evaluation slips from about equal to +2.7! I'm curious why you didn't consider 5 Ne5, as I think this is objectively the best move, although obviously Ng5 worked out well for you this time! :)

  • Great play

  • Magnetic mate. Always strikes hard. Always beautiful. (Y)

  • Whatvan incredible game!!!!

  • I forget what that opening is called, but I've played it quite a few times. Morphy has a 17 move win using that opening. 1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf 3.Nf3 g5 4.h4 g4 5.Ng5 h6 6.Nxf7 Kxf7 7.Qxg4 Qf6 8.Bc4+ Ke7 9.Nc3 c6 10.e5 Qxe+ 11.Kd1 Kd8 12.Re1 Qc5 13.Bxg8 d5 14.Re8+ Kxe8 15. Qxc8+ Ke7 16. Nxd5+ Kd6 17.Qc7#

  • Blacks passed pawn business looked quite scary for me. As black I would use Nf6 trying to stick it somewhere on the h file annoyingly. But I luv the Kc style. Often I look at his pawns and think its over until his pressure shows clear effects

  • Right after he played Nd7. I SAW RG7 Immediately

  • I was kinda hoping for a Muzio gambit early on in this video. :p

  • I believe I know Richard Jones, he is quite possibly the Richard Jones from Wales who is now an IM (Just became an IM this season), and he's one of the rising stars of Wales.

  • Was horrible watching you nearly play e5 twice in that position! Good game though, very nice mate. Very hard to see everything in these kinds of positions.

  • nicely played, good sir. :)

  • This was an interesting game for me. I've never seen Nxf7 in the King's Gambit before. So, there was value in this game for me. I like learning from the 2000+ level players, but I win against the sub-2000 level players routinely. They often make 25 fairly good moves then one or two poor moves and the game is decided by that. With sub-2000 level players, it is mostly just mental endurance. If a player can just play clean, they will win most games. At the 2000+ level, I find more enrichment.

  • What if black plays f6? It traps the knight with the added benefit surely of not allowing the knight for pawn sac. Is it really theory then to just go to f7 anyway and force the king to move?

  • What a great game!

  • I just cant believe that someone with a 2105 rating played so badly.. i mean this line is well known..i dont like watching bad players.. u just ride over him.. :S

  • @Djole0 kinda bold calling him a bad player after watching one game guess you must be a grandmaster

  • @johnmrrs :No, but he played terrible u have to agree with me.

@ Kingscrusher: ah, it is just ridicioulus, that he played this line like that.. i dont get it. One or two blunders? Heh, i think the attack on ur knight is the first blunder.. he should open differently i quess.. It just wasnt fun watching.. because u made him look like he is begginer in chess.

  • @johnmrrs lols ,everyone is a genius on the Internet

  • @Djole0 I nearly lost because Bd6 was setting a nice trap for e5 ?? Qxh4 winning for Black. Also do you realise there are only 7 players on the ICC above 2300 on the 15 minute autopairing ?! So his rating of 2100 also represents a very high relative ranking within the player pool for 15 minute players on the ICC. He is not a bad player at all I believe - just one or two blunders in this one.

  • @Djole0 ...you didnt like watching this game? Yeah right stop trolling

  • @numbcore

I just expressed my view on the game.. Yes. i didnt like this game that much.

  • @Djole0 Oke but you should realise that not every single line can be known by everyone. KC probably doesnt know this line because its not really viable in real matches..but still he made a fun game out of it, I wouldnt know what was so bad about it. At least it wasnt a boring endgame grind..

  • Spectacular.

  • wow...I liked it..Nice games..Thanks..Friends please subscribe me too and watch my videos..!! Hope you will like them..!!

  • wow ur a little bobby- u see great moves mate

  • nice find with Rg7. I wouldnt have spotted that.

tons of compensation for Nf7. Well played.

  • apologies for rank spelling...

  • One day can you show us the 'invite the queen chech' line in the kings gambit...always wanted tio have a go at that but can't really understand how it is to white's advantage to go down that line...cheers.

  • It's called the Allgaier Gambit that one.
