Rev 1:19 Write the things which thou HAST seen, and the things which ARE, and the things which shall be HEARAFTER; Get it folks, past, present, future !!
I wish Christians were taught Biblical Hermeneutics, because then 'audience relevance' will be considered so that we'd understand who 'soon' applied to. And the Roman Jewish War - how FEW Christians know about this significant time in history!! Why aren't we taught this? Also- apocalyptic language- so many take it literally. All over the Old Testament it is used symbolically, so why, when in Revelation, do we literalize it? "old heavens & earth" is the Old Covenant, so 'new heavens & earth' is
Compare what you've written with the first three verses of Revelation, where John speaks of things which were "shortly to come to pass" and the "time had drawn near." It could not be near now. But listen to Paul. "And do this, knowing the time that NOW it is high time [THE HOUR] to awake out of sleep; for now is our salvation nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is AT HAND." (Rom. 13:11-12) You opinions do not mitigate against the inspired word of God.
The Book of Revelation is a book of things that had happened, were happening and would happen. ALL of it can not be fulfilled, I do not buy that at all. That is total deception and what the enemy wants you to believe. Although a lot has happened, not ALL, not even close to all has happened....sorry..
Remember, Christ taught that he kingdom was at hand during his ministry, (Matt. 4:17; Mk. 1:14). That means it was near. However, Paul taught that they were "receiving the kingdom" (Heb. 12:28). It would arrive before some who stood with Jesus died, (Matt. 16:28). So those who obey Christ are "in the kingdom." The Millennium ended when the kingdom fully arrived when all Christ's enemies were defeated (70 AD). The faithful now live with Christ in life and beyond death, (John 8:51-52; 11:25-26)
@Corinth777 These are questions I also once asked and I thank you for asking them. 1. The kingdom of heaven is the church. 2. The millenniun is actually thousands of years and it is the new covenant. 3. What do we do now? Preach the gospel and realize that the church will continue to grow and advance and that the gates of hell will not prevail against the church. I hope this helps.
How many times has dispensationalists changed positions on Revelation and the end times? I don't see how anybody can deny this.I don't know anybody that isn't the futurist view other than my mother and she is a student of the bible 50t yrs and rejects Futurism, but she would never discuss this with her pastor.God bless
If Christ has already returned in flaming fire with His angels, then the Resurrection is past and you are doomed! Preterism is false. True, Daniel's prophecies were fulfilled by 70 AD, Revelation was a message for the church that was entering a time of persecution. But, Matthew 24:35 is future. Heaven and earth WILL pass away and the end will come without any definite signs. (Matthew 24:42)
@skuuter God's kingdom is said to endure as the sun and moon forever. If they are destroyed, then so will the kingdom be destroyed. Read Psa. 89:29, 34-37. Perhaps you will see your contradiction.
@AllThingsFulfilled I am only a half-preterist. I think that most of Revelation has been fulfilled but not all because we have not been resurrected yet. Nor do I think Revelation is literal but symbolic.
@skuuter Daniel's prophecies were fulfilled in 70 AD. Daniel's prophecies are the same as those in Revelation. Therefore, Revelation was fulfilled in 70 AD. Daniel prophecies were fulfilled in 70 AD. Daniel's prophecies are the same as Matt. 24:3, 15-18, 21, 30, particularly. (See Dan. 7:13-14, 9:27; 12:1-7. Therefore, Matt. 24 was fulfilled in 70 AD. Heaven and earth there refers to Judaism, not to the planet. It passed away, but God's word remains.
people are talking about concentration camps, taking those that refuse the mark of the beast. But I believe what Joesephus said about the mark, but I'm not taking any chances. If someone tries to chip me, I'm refusing it. I see you are a Full Preterist it seems, what do you think of the concentration camps, rfid, and swine flu rumors. Jesus Christ 4 Life
People should be cautious not because there is a biblically prophesied endtime in our future. It is not, as it has occurred already in the past in 70 A.D. Today's focus on a future imminent endtime is hype, ignorance of political & Christian Zionism, & paganism, i.e. (Mayan 2012). However, there are issues related to population control, genocide, eugenics, ethnic cleansing, planned parenthood/abortion which has been going on for sometime. Google "ncs memorandum 200, and 46," & "Ma'afa 21."
That is quite a "protracted" view of the end time. I could write a book in response, but this brief reply will have to do. First, a few questions, "Why did Paul tell the Thessalonicans that (1) the apostasy had to come first, and (2), the man of sin had to be revealed which would not happen till Christ returned. (2 Thess. 2:1-8). Secondly, Peter said, the heavens must receive Christ until the "restoration of all things spoken by the mouth of the prophets, (Acts 3:20-21). Did judgment occur then?
(cont) In Matt 28:18 Jesus states that He had received all power in heaven and earth. This is because He had just returned to earth right after leaving heaven. We witness Jesus receive the power, honor in Rev 5. We see the Lamb as it had been slain. This is what transpired right after Jesus' resurrection. In Rev 5 Jesus receives the scroll and then all power. I believe the scroll is the book of Revelation itself. Then Jesus gives it to John. Rev states that God gave it to Jesus then John. GB
Hello and God bless! I agree with you in that the book of Revelation is all about Christ and is fulfilled. I believe the New Jerusalem is the Church, the kingdom of God that now is. I believe the whore of Babylon is OT apostate Jerusalem. The faithful city had become a harlot.---Where we may differ is on the AD70 applications. I believe the actual timing of the book of Revelation is mostly directly after the cross. Consider Revelation 5 and Matthew 28:18. This is after Jesus' return(cont)

@FALLONME35 Yes, thats what I think. The Book of Revelation is what WAS, IS, and WILL BE. It pertains to every generation and not just the last.

@MrsRosengard It's good to know what you think, but it's better to know what the Bible says. See the commend above.

Preterism..-If one believes Christ has come, then how do you explain the kingdom of heaven? or the Millennium, or what happens to us now?

Heaven passes away....? hummm....

God looked it over and said it was very good, then later he said he did not create it in vain, but created it to be inhabited.
Who is it that would want us to believe God has lost and the devil has won?
