  • to lazy, im gonna just toss my garbage out on the side of the road

  • Add a floating island of radio-active trash

    Fairy Paradise

    watch?v=V8miEeuAch4

  • plastiki.com

  • Quit drinking bottled water. Buy a bottle and learn to use it. We are the problem, not the plastic.

    Check this out.

  • this video will be my homework

  • @HealyHQ same

  • Ben 10 brought me here. This is sad. :/

  • That's a fucking sad story

  • People are just basically to lazy and arrogant to keep trash in their car until they get home to dispose of it properly and unfortunately world leaders do not get involved BECAUSE it is not POLITICALLY advantageous for them to do so. Soo on it goes

  • Thumbs Up if you came here from Japan Quake trash video!

  • hi mr huston

  • Lakeside class of 2016!

  • Buy things you 100% need, buy the ones that last long, stop buying fastfood crap, stop buying fashion crap, buy clothes that are strong, the ones who come from small companies are always stronger and last longer then the ones from big multinational clothing companies, only buy a new tv when your old one can't be repaired, don't buy pets you can't fully support, get a shopping bag instead of hundreds of plastic bags every year.

its very simple: STOP BUYING CRAP YOU DON'T EVEN NEED IN YOUR LIFE!

  • Think before you buy! think about if you really need it! stop buying all the useles consumption crap!

STOP BUYING CRAP YOU DON'T NEED!

  • Here is something for all you people!

STOP BUYING CRAP YOU DON'T NEED!

  • watch video "the adventures of duc" and see what ocean trash does for a small sea lion.

  • well we can all do our part,When we go to beach we always do a shore line cleanup every bit helps.

  • Don't blame housewives for this freakin mess!! And, why is it not mandatory to recycle around the world. Also, create jobs outta gettin' this mess cleaned up.

  • @vic078 I'm afraid housewives are our first line of defence against misuse of household waste, and most of those I speak to claim they are too busy to recycle. Or too glamourous, or too desperate to be glamourous. I blame Desperate Housewives.

And as goes "mandatory" recycling, why do you need laws just to do the right thing? Do you really want to be ruled? You might as well volunteer for a RFID chip in the brain. Sacrifice freedom for (environmental) security and you will get neither

  • What ever happened to the Pepsi and Coca Cola in the returnable glass bottles I had as a kid? If they brought those back I'd be thrilled.

  • Think about it, the next plastic bag you get at any store ......

  • Comment removed

  • @zoot3zz It takes I person @ a time not throwing away the Starbucks cup with lid etc Recycling Depots set up World Wide but also the Corporations who over package items.

Be the Catylist for Change in your City or Town. Cheers !

  • Idiocracry, been really like that here for ages.

  • There is a plant in Philadelphia that turns all kinds of garbage into oil. No joke. In the YouTube search engine type "Free energy 400 billion dollar secret"

  • @dieudutonnerre

    Those are extremely rare exceptions.

    Also,

=im not trying to sell you capitalism or some other ideolody just so were clear=

thank you. I appreciate that. Unfortunately, you are absolutely the only one who defends reward for true hard work WITHOUT selling free-market capitalism.

There is not a single other soul who doesn't try to shove free-market capitalism down my throat.

  • Respect - need to be shared

    Albatross127 - yesseaearthshepherd com

  • sad

  • Can't you people see that a lot of this is either things they made up, or are a lot less than they claim. HE IS A LIAR AND A MARXIST PROPAGANDIST.

  • The end of the world is getting near, and the great Pacific garbage patch is a sign of ecological collapse.

  • I wish all of my teachers were as interesting as this man, I would have been a genious with straight A's throughout my whole life, I mean this man gets to the point and explains it clearly, he presents pictures and short clips I also doubt he gives any homework :)

  • 3:48 can't unsee

  • GOP says... tax cuts for the top 0.1%

  • @dalecampbl7 what does that have to do with trash?

  • Thats whats really gonna kill us. Overpopulation. We currently are expecting the 7 billionth person to be born. More people means consuming more food and more resources. Poorer countries would seek shelter in richer countries and a massive cycle begins

  • @3888799

Thank you. I'm young, so when I state the truth, it goes unheard. But I've been saying it since I was 12 years old. Overpopulation is the cause for every-single-fucking-problem on this planet. Therefore, I will never, ever, have kids.

  • @3888799 agreed,we need to close off our borders to 3rd world countrys.

  • Charles Moore is a Marxist fraud. Many if not all of his pictures are staged. He is pushing Saul Alinsky’s – Rules for Radicals where Alinsky writes “once you organize people around something as commonly agreed upon as pollution, then an organized people is on the move. From there it's a short and natural step to political pollution, to Pentagon pollution.” In other words Moore is pushing a anti-capitalist, pro Statist government, for the purpose of enslaving us under Tyranny.

  • @Exton1 This is awesome that he is anti-capitalist. It would be great if he were Marxist.

Capitalists want slaves to work in their fascist corporatist state.

This guy is at least doing good for the world, while scum like you are so laughably "oppressed"

that you can't be bothered to take a reusable shopping bag to a store.

You should be grateful I haven't passed laws against meat or having kids yet, which we should.

  • @mphello The term capitalist was created my Marx to describe -Liberty and Free Markets. It is the most democratic, most fair system man ever created for one votes with there dollars. The more people you please with your product the more money you make. Actors make a lot of money, because a lot of people see their movies. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs became rich because the made products people liked. So only a fool would be against capitalism.

  • @Exton1

Karl Marx never invented the word "capitalist". And that is entirely YOUR opinion that capitalism is "the most democratic, fair" system. BULLSHIT!

In some fantasy world of infinite resources and opportunities. Not in the real physical world.

Nobody became rich because of hard work. They got rich because they freeloaded off others.

At least Marxism tries to rectify / reverse that injustice.

  • @Exton1 You are already enslaved.

  • @TartarusFalling - No my eyes are open and I see the light. you live in darkness and misery.

  • @StepIntoMe Say that again after you drink some of those garbage water. :)

  • Damned be the single-use plastics!

  • Let it not be said that humanity is destroying itself & the earth. Homo Sapiens Sapiens & its biomes sufficed each other quite well for the first 199,000 years of their cohabitation. It is the recent pairing of Industrial civ w/ Capitalism which, in wave after wave of increasing intimacy, has forged that deadly chain that, cranking ever higher throughput for the siphoning apparatti upon which its bloated kings sit on mountains of starving slaves' bones, is choking both man & world to extinction.

  • This world isn't dying, you humans have fucked it up pretty bad but she's been through a lot worse than us over the years. The Earth isn't going away, you are!

  • i have witnessed personally the bleaching coral on my past two vacations and seen plastic debris.its true what this man is saying. This world is dying

  • You can watch Dr. Moore's 1 hour documentary on VBS called Toxic Garage Island for free. VBS produced it so it's their's to share. It is GREAT documentary on a very sad subject.

  • Everyone should watch this video, the way we are living is so completely unsustainable. Charles Moore is sending a great message, one that the entire population needs to hear.

  • Beyond the Budget? Are you fucking kidding me? WHY IS IT ALWAYS ABOUT MONEY. Humans are so fucking screwed its mind boggling

  • @joshyman12312 MONEY runs this county you dumb fuck. No type of currency = No society. Not hard to understand.

  • meh i dont eat seafood so i dont give a shit, okthxbye

  • He says that straining the ocean would be beyond the budget of any country and it might kill untold amounts of sea life in the process. We can make charities can't we? And can't we dump chemicals that speed up the decomposing of the plastics? If not, can't we drag it out, and if we kill an "untold amount of wildlife" determine how much of what wildlife we killed, artificially breed more of that species, and put it back into the habitat to balance it out?Seems like a simple though pricey solution..

  • @inshepherdswetrust You can't do it because all Ocean animals in the food chain are affected by toxins that pass down thru their offspring/predators.The reason it's an untold amount of wildlife is because we don't know every species that exists, nor do we have a male and female of each species There are approximately 8.7 mill species on earth of which we know about 10%.It'll take thousands of years to find them all, but it's most likely they'll die first. natural balance takes millions of years

  • 3:21 Transistors?

  • Who is to blame for this?

Who else is there to blame for this but us - humans. Our overconsumption attitude and way of living are slowly killing the environment, day by day. If this continues the only water we will swim in is what is in the backyard of your house, if you have a pool of course. Sooner or later this will be the future we facing as a result of our plastic lifestyle (se my article: Our plastic lifestyle) if we don’t come to our senses.

    WWWENVIRONMENTINFOCUSCOM

  • @environmentinfocus I say our society is to blame for this, and we are part of our society so we are part of the problem. We use a monetary free for all market system that demands cyclical consumption to keep the economy going. If we made products to last, that are easily upgradable, and fully recyclable one of two things would happen. They would be too expensive, or that industry would go out of business.

We need an economy that is sustainable, check out the film Zeitgeist Moving Forward.

  • Anyone notice there is not a SINGLE photo of this supposed patch the size of Texas. They show shore photos, one of a canoe paddling through trash in Asia and lots of animals. But there is not one single photo of a mass of garbage, other than one small patch of fishing nets about 12ft by 4ft on the ocean surface. I know there is rubbish out there but to believe these turkeys with no evidence has caught a huge group of gullible people.

There is NO huge Pacific Garbage Patch!

  • @daggyz1959 Most of the garbage has been dissolved into particles and sunk into the water so it doesn't exist as big pieces of garbage and wouldn't easily be seen on a photograph, but it is there: "Most debris consists of small plastic particles suspended at or just below the surface, making it impossible to detect by aircraft or satellite. "

  • samin un ah? hehe

  • I do recycle at home...but they should recycle plastic shopping bags as well...I fell really bad that we have to trough them in the domestic trash can..

  • Me likey trash. Eat it every day.

  • Everyone seems to keep missing the point. The greedy corporations need to stop producing them, but that will never happen. And (qaywsxedc666) why don't you "Trow a fist at them"?

  • next time i see someone trowing pastic in the sea or a river i dont just think "what a idiot" i trow a fist at him

  • plastic needs to be banned, full stop

  • go to clean !

  • I too went looking for the "island" of trash. It seems to not exist - yet. But you gotta ask yourself, do you really want it to? There are things we can all do to ensure it does not. We should ALL start doing them now.

  • plastic can be turned into energy with the right chemistry.Make that science common knowledge and the plastic in the ocean will become and commodity resource and "The Market" will fish them out .this is what i mean buy "Decycle".But as along as "We The People"believe the lies from the petroleum industry.we are doomed to wallow in our own filth

  • LOLOLOLOLOLOL! why can't they just throw the goddamn garbages into outer space!

  • It's a very distressing legacy to leave for future generations... and what is being done to address it it?????????????????

    "Didly squat"

  • @fuckincuntscrape888 so you want to die because of a little plastic in the oceans, you do understand that the plastic in the ocean cannot be seen and the pictures they show are in very limited areas like beaches

  • @busguy100

The plastic in the north pacific gyre is visible, huge chucks of plastic float around there all the time.

  • @Deokishisu No it is not it is only small pieces, if you think otherwise show me some pictures that are wide ones not closeups

  • @busguy100

    Flicker

    /photos/39694152@N02/4073951342/

  • @busguy100 small peices are just as bad as big ones bc small fish eat the small pieces i dont c wut ur getting at dude small peices accumulate overtime do u live near a beach or do u live not on earth? and these wide angle shots wut more do u need do u need wide angle shots of this planet to show it exists?

  • @nerdforeverchick the small pieces are very small pieces and when they look for them they drag a net for miles to get a little in the net and even then it's only enough to coat the bottom of the jar they put them in. They NEVER show a wide shot of the plastic in the ocean because there is nothing to show, when they do find a few things floating in the ocean it is always a tight shot. The only place to find a bunch of floating plastic is on or near beaches where the current collects it

  • @busguy100 Sorry mate your wrong. I've dived all over the Asian tropics, Papa New Guinea and Hawaii, Bags, bottles and god knows what else floating everywhere, its really shocking to see.Places especially affected are Malaysia and Borneo as the monsoon season washes all the debris in the South China sea from the Philippines, China, Vietnam and Thailand, onto the small reefs and islands.I dived in Borneo and Malaysia in March, right at the end of the monsoon season and to be honest,I was appalled

  • @Deokishisu Wrong there are no large chunks of plastic floating around, if you think that is correct show me the WIDE angle shots of plastic floating in the ocean not next to a beach. I know that you cannot as there are none. The plastic that they are referring to is very small pieces that they get by dragging a small mesh net in the water and then it is a very little amount.

  • @busguy100 wait til you go to the beach and want to swim in the ocean only to swm in water with million plastic particles its not bull dont be ignorant i swam in it

  • @nerdforeverchick You know there is a lot of ocean beyond your beach where tides and water flows concentrate the plastic into a small area

  • @busguy100 yeah true and they also big areas of big trash in the water throughout the world but their is tons of trash lots of it

  • @nerdforeverchick No there is not. Show me the pictures of all this trash, as if there was large areas of trash there would be lot's of pictures. I Googled "pacific ocean garbage patch" and EVERY picture they show is in coves or next to land, like I said there is no floating island of trash out there

  • @busguy100 iam not going to argue with u what does it matter to u anyway trash is trash go to my beach and I will show u all the trash in the water and the plastic beach sand that nvr existed b4 when I was a kid. How do u know that the great wall of china exists if u havent touched it or seen it same as another place u nvr been to. the pnt is that garbage is in the water killing wildlife. try volunteering washing birds and helping seals and ull c how it affects life.

  • @nerdforeverchick Thats not the point so many people think there is a floating island of plastic but it is not true

  • @busguy100 yes their is! a baby turtle told me that his daddy died swimming in it and his friend whale is crying to me on the phone telling me all abt it

  • @busguy100 ok this garbage patch does exist the trash is together and connected its called the grt pacific garbage patch in the middle video however wut they say is that their is tons of trash floating around in the area that is as big as an island its all the trash they see as big as an island not all the trash is connected together as an island but its accumulated all together so its basically the same thing trash is trash so recycle

  • HEMP BASED PRODUCTS!!! CURE FOR EVERYTHING!

Oh wait, greed and corruption outlawed industrial Hemp, even though you can't even get high off it.

  • @staphinfection not quite, there is simply no biodegradable plastic, as the supposed biodegradable stuff merely breaks down into smaller kibbles for the fish to munch on. The solution is to truly recycle, there have been people who have invented systems that burn plastics for fuel, which is Ideal but our EPA makes those very expensive and nearly impossible to operate.

  • @staphinfection The convenience is too much of a burden.

  • @staphinfection You can make hasish from hemp.

Honestly one of the least offensive drugs out there, but there it is.

  • CannabisPlastic = Problem solved...

  • Stop drinking bottled water! We can now make 99.99% pure drinking water from air!

No chlorine, No Chloramines, No Pesticides,No BPA's No contaminants, NO PLASTIC! grab a glass, a stainless container waterpureintl dot) com its green, its clean, its sustainable

  • I hate when facts are over exaggerated to the point where I can't believe it anymore based on the lies I caught. I'm suspicious there are plenty I didn't: 2 million bottles/5 minutes = 576,000,000. That's 2 bottles for every man, woman and child in the US a day roughly. That seems pretty excessive considering I know PLENTY of people that don't buy it at all! I also don't like seeing closeups of bottles at a recycling center and it's portrayed as what's in every square mile of the Pacific.

  • we need to start using glass again.

  • An Equal Money System would end the production of petroleum based plastics. But, you can do something NOW. Biodegradable plastic can be manufactured out of hemp oil. That's right, Industrial Hemp. Contact your Senators and Congressmen requesting their support for the Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2011. Do some research...

  • @fuckincuntscrape888 on may 21 2011 or oct 21 2011 or in 2012 the world will end Forever

  • Holy Moly ! ! ! -- Reading these various comments here ! ! ! -- The human race has plenty of examples here of evolution that is still in its infancy !

  • I hope BP Oil Spill helped contain this Garbage

    :(

  • It made me feel sick to my stomach....what has become of us all, all we give a shit about is stupid Ipods and plastic fantastic.....beam me up scotty

  • LETS GET THE UNEMPLOYED WORKING CLEANING UP THIS MESS . THIS IS A SAD SITUATION AND THE ONLY WAY TO SOLVE IT IS TO CLEAN IT UP ! SO LETS QUIT BITCHEN ABOUT IT AND LETS GET IT CLEANED UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 11 people are made of plastic.

  • @fuckincuntscrape888 Only the ones that care more about their Ipod then the planet. Atleast try...Some might say the more intelligent we get the worse we are, we need to find a balance.

  • @SkepsisDub dont think so. early cave poeple moved from one place to another looking for food. they found a solution =D. lets find one for us (but not moving to another planet). we are really intelligent (in comparison) but we consume a lot and destroy the planet. so, lets get even more intelligent to answer back to ourselves not to pollute our small home

  • 11 people are Amish =/

  • Sad that politicians refuse to make laws that would help our oceans, because the oil companies are too big.

  • this looks kick ass i wonder how long itl take untill we could stand on it

im sure the fish look mutated and shit

  • u know its stupid did u know some ppl think ALL VIDEO'S LIKE THIS ON YOUTUBE PPL WATCH IT BUT THEY THINK ITS A FAKE YOUTUBE VID ITS STUPID

  • I myself have been a loyal litterer in my community for year's. I will try to do more in my part to dump my crap off into the ocean watter's and further pollute the environment this I promise....Feed the oceans barrel's of Oil and freely empty your trash.

  • This is so sad. I wish the government would just step in and make major changes. People would learn to adapt. At the end of the day we are talking about the future of the plant.

  • @bibbit214 Sure but how many Americans would percieve those efforts as government intrusion? How many will assert their god-given rights to pollute the planet as they please?

  • @bibbit214 Sadly, those presidents are merely pawns, put in place by the lobbyists for corporate america. We live in a consumer based world, and what we consume is wrapped in plastic. The better man kind does, teh worse off life is in this solar system. On the plus side, we cut all funding for the man-space program at NASA, so we;ll all die here in our plastic dump :)

  • @fuckincuntscrape888 cynic, just live your life.

  • why dont we just fucking shove all the garbage into volcanos and burn it all, done and simple

  • @fuckincuntscrape888 PRIDE goes before the fall...fix ur inside, then the outside will take care of itself.

  • thanks--shocking, needed. Let's make a change. We added you to our favs on our channel.

  • Just an observation: after seeing, this has anyone altered their life style to try and stop adding to the mess? I am now refusing to use shopping bags, will buy a water filtration system, and will actively recycle at home. I know I have no control of what the government does as a whole but I am now pledging to stopping my inclusion to the problem. I no longer wish to be considered a part of the disease.

  • @MoeMDB What a wonderful step to take. Kudos to you for making that decision. My family has been using green reusable bags for the past 3 years. Just remember to wash them every now and then- they tend to accumulate nutrients from what they carry and rub off on its contents. I have a front loader washer that uses barely any water, I no longer use a dryer- all clothes are air dried or put on a clothes horse near a heater. There are a lot of things you can do at home that will make a difference.

  • @MoeMDB

But you drive a car, use paper and buy goods and furniture in spite of the fact you have no idea where it cae from.

I haven't met a greenie who not a hidden hypocrite yet. I would love to meet a true greenie but I cannot find one

  • @MoeMDB Nearly all this shit floats in from third-world countries, not the United States.

  • @MoeMDB good one...so many of us just watch and forget...

  • @MoeMDB since 15 years ago I tried to quick plastic. besides waht you already said stop using STRAWS they also kill many marine organisms.

    happy to read you

  • @fuckincuntscrape888 Yes cunt dearie, don't worry. Donkey testicles is right. Humanity will one day crumble under the weight of its own stupidity.

  • I swear, one day, this planet will be taken away from us if we keep going down this path of not giving shit about the planet. And when it happens, I won't be here, but those that are, will have a dumb-ass look on their faces... " oh, we didn't know what to do.."

  • we gonna learn to eat plastic

  • the UN should work a deal out with north korea- allow north korea to utilize nuclear power in exchange for them allowing us to dump all of our trash there

  • Clean it up for free.....get industries and governments, and individuals together, and just clean it up for free. Don't pay anyone to do it, just do it.

  • Hell, we are so fucked...

  • @dibwav Yup, we're fucked.

  • Really? That is how you found the seagull?

  • I was watching this while drinking a bottle of coca cola. Tasty, refreshing, but so wrong.

  • the crowd laughs when he tells them the percentage of plastics recycled...shows a lot about humans...

  • And now with the possibility of this plastic becoming radioactive, 2012 is looking more and more like a reality. I'm afraid it's going to be to late to care about what's really going to happen when the world is faced with starvation on a biblical scale.

  • Each country must stop at source from dumping plastic into the sea.

My rubbish is my responsibility, throw your rubbish into the trashcan, do not litter. Preserve our environment, we have only one Earth.

    Hiew Chee Fah, Environmentalist, Malaysia

Chairman of River and Beach Conservation, Environmental Action Center, Sabah, Malaysia.

  • Honestly i am watching this for my biology class and answering questions i was given, i notice a comment above that said this pollution is the cause of global warming, it's not, it has happened before in the past and now in the north there is more ice up there then water now. I live in maine, theres are piles of snow 10 feet high, and is still snowing. The pollution is bad but not the cause of "global warming." The plastic thing however can't be stopped it's like cigarettes , in my opinion.

  • @inmysights41 i ran out of room, so like i said there like cigarettes you don't need them but you can't just get rid of them.

  • @inmysights41 peeetttrrrrrooooo!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • What's really sad is how easy it is to make plastics now that fully bio-degrade. It is the interests of the petrol companies that control this lack of change. Also, remember the Sunchips bag that would fully decompose? People would actually complain, "the bag is too noisy!" We need to start caring more about tomorrow!

  • this is why we need WALL-E

  • Humans have forever never genuinly and totally cared for anything unless it has instrumental values and can be exploited for personal gain....until it's gone or becomes an inconvenience. 60's hippies were on to something.....

  • @lakostal Emo.

  • My oh my.. what have we become. Think people. Carry your own canvas shopping bag. I've been doing it for 2 years, you can too, it's easy :)

  • Did you know Plastic bottles was suppose to be kept and reused by the people? They don't anymore (after health hazards). It's buy throw, buy throw.

  • plastic aint the issue. its the fucking morons who dont bin it. Binned plastic can be incinerated!

  • Great presentation. Be part of the solution take The Plastic Challenge.

  • :(

  • they should throw it in volcanos

  • If you're interested in recycling art and trash watch "Safe the planet-Recycling art" , "Your trash haunts you" and "Miss Biarritz" you will enjoy it !!!

  • "A farmer carefully monitoring inputs can grow organic produce, but the time is long since past when mother nature can produce an organic fish anywhere in the ocean." Yikes.

  • @fuckincuntscrape888 Cry as much as you want, tomorrow you will go to the supermarket and you are going to buy plastic again and again that you WON'T recycle, same like me or anyone else... At least try and RECYCLE and buy less things wrapped with plastic, that will at least reduce the problem just a little bit.

  • @fuckincuntscrape888 to think our death is the only solution has shown me that you not only want to solve the problems we've created, but that you've already given up.

  • Look up You Tube "inFact: The Pacific Garbage Patch" Video.......

  • there are several scientists who invented the plastic that can be coded for how long to remove the fence of but all are afraid to finance them.if someone with more brains, can find them in Bulgaria through google ....:)
