As I close my eyes, I envision the the tens of thousands of Roman Soldiers posturing their strength as they stomped their feet in unison to the military cadence of music played which created a sound wave of a crushing magnitude that reverberated the power of their great numbers while sending chills of terror down the spines of those that dared to defy Roman Law.
I think neither music OR film would have made the grade without each other, although the music is in a class of it's own and stands alone as a masterwork.
Remember, music has been around a LOT longer than celluloid!
