civ 2 is the best of the series. I have 3 and 4, but they just don't measure up with civ 2. All I ever wanted was civ 2 with borders. That's all I still want. If I could have civ 2 with border functionality, that's the only game I'd ever need for the rest of my life. Civ 2 and 4 are different games all together. I don't care about fancy graphics. I care about playability and civ 2 is the most fun, by far.

@FreedomWorkShop YES. The only gripe about Civ II are the lack of borders. I hate carving out an empire then having some random civilization land people on my continent to build a city right next to one of mine. Whenever they did that I would go into the cheat menu, erase all the units in their city, then pop a couple of barbarians outside. Then after the barbarians would take over, I would attack the city, and because it was at level 1, the city would be erased.

@blk9917 - If I ever become rich, I will buy the rights to CivII and rewrite the game to have borders. I'll let you know when I've done it. Could be a bit of a wait...

nah man,epic is a more fitting description. You godda get ova killer graphics to appreciate quality gameplay. The best in the seris by far!

How is using nukes cheating? I just finished a game that ended with me (America) vs Japan, and I nuked over half their cities. Won it in 1952 with 102% score, the most I've ever scored by some 30%. It took 3 days though. Great game :D

u said u wanted advice .. u and the comp opponent messed up positioning the cities .. as u can see u have 6 mines on the right when you could have 16 .. that makes 10 hills unminable atm, you could also squeze in 2 more cites on the east coast of ur island + the small island in the river

CIV # CONQUEST MODDED is actuaslly better then Beyond the SwOrd CIv4. Yes its true!. IF you havn't played civ3 with a faster engine then before. I urge you go back and try, 1000's of units and civs on mamoth maps no wait times! Its amazing.

Dude, you should really try civIII: conquests!

Sure civ 4 is 3D and has more stuff in it but civ3 has one of the most addictive gameplay ever in any civ game! Hell that's not just my opinion but whole lot of others' too.

I completely agree. Civ 3 including Conquests is the Definitive Civilization game for some reason and i cant put my finger on it.

the hardest, deighty or somethink like that...i've always played at that level, kinda got used to playing at it
