I practice wing chun and wu shu(southern hung gar couse WC is southern) and i never seen that kind of shitty PERFORMANCE this is not training this is like a clown performance at public . When i watched that i sad "what the hell man why this guys humiliate them selfs infrot of the camera?" Great performance but no real martial art here .
Most of the performances you see are by wushu students but REAL Shaolin monks still exist. The students are taught the spiritual aspects but it really depends on the school. There are about 80 schools in the area that focus mostly on training wishu. Inside the Temple there are "real" Shaolin Monks
fact is that these children are no monks, but disciples of the temple, only trained in the martial arts aspects of shaolin culture(maybe more like performance MAs).however traditional shaolin si wushu is still alive
wrong shaolin monks arent wushu trainers shaolin is a sacret martial art that not all can train it other wushu can all train and it has a lot of simmilar things than shaolin but wushu from iner things its way not even close what they showed here isent even 1/5 of stuff shaolin monks really do. this are more like new cummers.
There's nothing secret about Shaolin Kung Fu. Lots of children join the temple to become monks, a part of which is the mental and physical conditioning of martial arts, and once they've become masters some leave to spread the culture and the martial arts to people in other countries
thats accurate but they have solid bodies from all the training they do they dont just fly around the place they have a lot of muscle conditioning aswell
The style has been adapted somewhat to fit the classical expectations people hold. Traditional form martial arts are often more display than practical. Street techniques would be over too quickly, watch some of the AKKI videos to see what I mean.
According to an account by a guy who spent a few years there, there are basically three divisions of the monks now. The martial monks, who still train in the traditional fighting styles, the performance monks, who focus on acrobatics and showmanship, and do most of the traveling and exhibitions, and the cultural monks, who are mostly of the older generation and focus on the religious aspect of monkhood.
