I get really annoyed when people do this too. I started reading Death Note to see the controversy between Light and the world, to see how secretly critically insane people view themselves. But as I continued reading I found Ryuzaki and Light's relationship to be something to ponder upon. Later as I continued reading I began to fall in love with the idea of L and Light as a couple and soon became a fan of them. I'm not stupid, I just found it fun and somewhat sexy.
