Good video man, I'm going to perform my first oil change on an 08 Yaris. Quick question, when you reset the Maintenance Check light, will it light up again when it's time for the next oil change? Thanks.
Duhhh..... 3.9 quarts dry 4.3 with filter. Omg, always prime your oil filter unless you're a retard, think your bearings and rocker arms enjoy going without oil while your oil pump is trying to fill the filter? And what retard thinks it's easier to ever change an oil filter from the top? Unless you've got girly thin arms or an oil filter relocator, stock or otherwise. Seen a chevy blazer with a 4.3 and the oil filter on a stock relocator under the hood above the power steering lines, but how of
you really have no idea what you're doing do you? For starters you're overfilling on the oil, max capacity for 07-2011 Yaris is 3.9 quarts, and two, you dont fill the filter with oil, just get some oil on your finger and run that around the top, the only oil filter you prime are for diesels. Might want to read up a little more before you post a how to. Btw, I own an oil change center. And it's a lot easier to change that filter from up top rather than getting under the car.
@Lwhite044 Dont know what im doing? The 400,000 views on my channel with multiple thank yous and compliments say otherwise. I promise the extra .5 quarts will not hurt this engine.
Yes you do fill the oil filter otherwise it isnt primed and the engine doesnt receive any oil for the first few seconds of running.
Read up a little? I dont plenty of reading.
So you own an oil change center and are pissed off that im teaching people how to do a QUALITY job and NOT get ripped off.....
@Lwhite044 and no, its not easier to change the filter from the top. In fact on most vehicles it is MUCH easier to change the filter from the bottom and it is not even accessible from the top.
One more negative comment and ill just block you and wont have to worry about your insults anymore. Just because you own an oil shop doesn't mean you know anything about cars.
The 1NZ has a capacity of 3.9 us qts with the filter...which equates to about 3.5 qts in the real world, when accounting for the residual left in the engine.
@firstmusic00 Looked up the specs and it called for the amount I put in with a filter change. The dipstick was at the full mark when parked on a flat surface.
Great video!!! I'm gonna do my first oil change soon. so PSYCHED!!!!

@jlsparky7 Read the specs again. I've owned an xA, xB and a Yaris...all with the 1NZ engine. I know what I'm talking about.

@firstmusic00 I put the amount of oil in it that the owner wanted and it read fine on the dipstick. Im sure you know everything.
