When the tackle is complete and an opposing player trips over him, it is deemed that the opposing player fell over the defender and was not tripped

Yes, it was a clear goal scoring chance. But you have missed something. In a slide tackle, the tackle is complete when the defender stops sliding and submits himself (stops going for the ball). When the tackle is complete and an opposing player trips over him, it is deemed that the opposing player fell over the defender and was not tripped

If you listen to the commentators when it happened even they speculate that he fell over LN.

Combine all those sequence of events and the official had not choice but to call a penalty. As a defender, you cant go to ground, miss your challenge and the ball, get in the way of the attacking player and expect the official to wave play on. I wanna tell ppl to get real.
