Jaguars has a harder bite than tigers that breaks turtle shells but bears have alot of muscle an power but if a cougar was managed to kill a adult male brown bear in a documantry with both dieing in the end, than I think a jaguar can atleast put up a fight. But jags have submitted to mountain lions in videos they hunt crocodiles good but I dont know about fighting other big cats or bears but atleast there bite is stronger than the bears an can instantly break any bone in the bears body.

@bigwaverider1000 I doubt that documents real. An adult male brown bear has 3-4inches of fat and 2 inches of fur covering the spine and knech area. The bone density of a bear is 7x that of a humans, "it takes 600 pounds to break a human skull'. Its mouth would be to full of fat and fur to break any bone. Also the bite test does tend to favor cats,since the test is done towards the front of the mouth. they have tested bears back jaws and some have it 3000+pounds.

@girtrute Aligators just make it to 2000 theres no way bears can hit that much, when tigers are only at 1100 the hardest was a hippo and a salt water croc reaching 3000 psi.

- There is about 10 or so from different districts and towns having the same story averagely I think a bear would maul a puma but if a puma can, than I think a jag has a chance.

These were different test, u cannot accuratly judge a mammals bite psi. a alligator of coarse is gonna give you a very proper reading. But from what ive seen on the different test results of bears,their bite force can range from 800-1600 in front bite and 3 studies have showed back jaw pressure of 3000 one was like 3780.

Just go look up all the studies.most studies of animals have no video recording. and you think just 1 test of only 3 of the same subjects is gonna get you a accurate reading?

They dont test the back the jaws in that video study iether, its just the mid mouth area,and the bear looked hardly ferocious when biteing it.

@girtrute Good for you.... Id belive a video over a guess any day and btw brady bar tested over 30 different animals scientist said wolf 1500. No he tested a wolf 400s with video proof look it up even if the wolf dident bite all out its still a bite never the less.

- He'd only raise it a 150 max like a human has a 110 no one was ever shown biting pass 200 concluding there is a range for what ever species differentiated by minor fractions go a head belive studies with no proof its up to you.

@bigwaverider1000 i just cant see a bear not cleaving through any small animal latched on its kneck, since a polar bear can leave 5 inch deep cuts in a beluga whale,that has way tuffer skin then these animals.  And the proof still isnt there when they arent even trying to bite near the force they do when enraged.

They haven't seen this happen just once its known widley threw eskimo land in the artic they have a tactic to hiding in small holes when the bear sniffs him out like how he does for seal the wolverine lunges and latched on to the neck and slashes open his throat same how a mongoose kills a cobra with speed an precision.

i think it was from documentary 'wild kingdom' .No fight (i think) and the jaguar retret.There is a fight that i cant found any more and shows a tiger and an asiatic black bear fight in a cage.Any idea of it?
