1. Both are amazing individual players capable of raisng there games and in time there will be other players just as good
2. MJ combination of individual and team success will be hard to beat 30 ppg, 5 mvps, 6 finals mvps and 6 rings
3. Even if somebody does break all of his records nobody will ever impact the game and become the sports and cultural icon that mj was. He was the babe ruth of our time and his legacy is timeless

Why do people keep saying Kobe is better because he scored 81 points in a game? Does one game make a career? If we go by that analogy then Scott Skiles is the best point guard ever since he got 30 assists in one game. Derek fisher revealed that in game 7 of the finals he was the one who told kobe to stop shooting because kobe's shots weren't falling in. He told kobe to just focus on defense and rebounds or else they will lose.

The NBA said that was the best moment in nba playoff history. A clutch performance on the nba's biggest stage. Magic, isiah, drexler, dominique, dumars, ewing, david robinson, stockton, malone, olajuwon, barkley are all hall of famers, not weak players. MJ beat them all.

Kobe's great offensively also his career scoring average is 25.3 ppg. Jordan is a 10-time scoring champion, Kobe is a 2-time scoring champion. But MJ is better defensively, he's a 3- time NBA steals leader & he's 2nd all-time in career steals.

Anybody want to tell me how Kobe is better than MJ? I know you'll bring bring up 81 against the 29th defense ranked team and 63 in 3 quarters and "analyst" saying he has a better skill set (which he based of MJ's but MJ's skill set got him more individual achievements that Kobe is too old to chase after) And how the athletes are more gifted (but mentally soft as fuck thanks to the rule changes). But besides all those arguments, do you have anything else? Didn't think so.

I strongly believe Kobe has been chosen by God to show the world how to really play Basketball.... He is almost unreal to believe when you watch him play basketball. He is totally a different Kobe out there... The greatest part about KB24 is he doesn't even know what he will do... He plays the game beyond his expectations and that's something we don't get to see often.

Let's put it this way if Jordan, Kobe, Lebron were all in thier prime I think Kobe was the most complete player on both sides of the court. Offensively Kobe was unguardable and didnt have a weakness unlike Jordan and Lebron. All 3 are great players, but i think Kobe is the better of the 3 and could go down as the Greatest of all time.

I think the only real conclusions that you can make are:
1. Both are amazing individual players capable of raisng there games and in time there will be other players just as good
2. MJ combination of individual and team success will be hard to beat 30 ppg, 5 mvps, 6 finals mvps and 6 rings
3. Even if somebody does break all of his records nobody will ever impact the game and become the sports and cultural icon that mj was. He was the babe ruth of our time and his legacy is timeless

Why do people keep saying Kobe is better because he scored 81 points in a game? Does one game make a career? If we go by that analogy then Scott Skiles is the best point guard ever since he got 30 assists in one game. Anyway, all around Jordan is better but since Kobe's career isn't over then we'll have to wait and see. Right now though I think Kobe has played more games than MJ and stats wise MJ has the edge.
