  • By the time the plane made its descent and lost all that fuel wouldn't have the passenger suffering the heart attack died?

  • what city is that? congratulations

  • Looks like goose bay.. CYFB

  • good job

  • @ToninoBacico somebody should tell that to politians

  • yessssssssssssssssssss....he survived!!! hehe, thanks to all

  • Look surviving a man cast this hard, but killing is so easy , and in our country Afghanistan every day more than 20 persons, I hope to see a day where people try to survive not to kill.

  • the last 5 seconds of this video made me happy

  • @all the people bitching about life and money So i guess if any of you drop dead i wouldn't care because i dont want the family to waste money on an ambulance....

  • erm what was the emergency?

  • @L00peey A passenger had a heart attack, so the flight was re-routed to get them to a hospital.

  • pff, what a waste of fuel

  • do all planes release the fuel before landing? I've been on a plane about 60 times and never noticed it?

  • @Rogie3210 Not at all, Planes release fuel under special conditions, Most of the time due to emergencies, like this case! :)

  • @carlosh1392 thanks man!

  • Smooth landing...Greased it!!!

  • Wait, someone had heart attack in plane and they needed to do emergency landing? Every emergency landing must be done with fuel releasing?

  • something similar happened to me, our plane had to land in canada because someone had a heart attack

  • i thought the plane had a heart attack xD

  • silly question. Isn't there some sort of side effect of dumping fuel? Misting jet fuel unto the air seems awkwardly unhealthy... Just sayin'

  • @WetPaddles Yes, it's only done in an emergency. The problem is, these kind of jets take off with so much fuel they're over their maximum landing weight - so if they need to land early, they need to either circle around to burn off fuel (okay if you're diverting for weather or something, bad idea if there's a time-sensitive emergency) or dump the fuel. ATC usually provides guidance to an area where the environmental effects will be minimized.

  • @bdunderscore are you aware of any stats regarding this? ie; do they keep track of how much fuel is dumped? does it lose potency as it falls? does it completely evaporate? etc... I'm not an activist or anything but, I'd never really given this topic much thought...

  • @WetPaddles No, I don't have any stats. You could try contacting the FAA via the FOIA process to see if they track any such statistics. But anyway, no airliner would waste perfectly good fuel unless they absolutely had to - so it's a self-limiting problem.

  • Fartso decided to have a heart attack it was all planned

  • i wonder if the victim of the heart attack had the fuel dump cost tacked to his bill.......

  • Money can be replaced, but you can`t restore a person life.... Life is more important than money

  • @ToninoBacico yes, but don't forget that there are 7 billion human beings on earth, so i don't think that 1 life would do a difference

  • @thesuperkain2 totally agree...a person SHOULD KNOW whether he/she is capable of flying with heart conditions...waste of money

  • @topgun767 well maybe they didnt know they had a heart condition

  • @thesuperkain2

I hope you have a heart attack on an airplane and the crew continues to their destination 5 hours away. You are after all only one life and who cares if you drop dead.

    you swine

  • @consrignornt oh yeah?? i really think that money and the environment are WAY more important than a person's life which represents 1/7,000,000,000. who cares if this man dies beside his family and friends?? i dont think that the poor hungry children of Africa will care! oh and btw, just like topgun767 said ,this man must have known that he had health issues, so why choose not to tell airline or do something?? finally, life must continue in any way weather you like it or not.

  • @thesuperkain2 You are either trolling or immensely stupid. I honestly am unable to tell which. If you're trolling then bravo sir, if you're really that stupid I can only offer my condolences.

  • @CircsC i am not saying that the crew must've continued to their destination , im just saying that they must blame all this loss of money and the waste of fuel on this man! i mean you cant have a heart attack just like that. he must've known that he had heart issues.

so why dont you shut your mouth and tell ur mom to make you a warm cup of milk.

    idiot.

  • @thesuperkain2 You can have a heart attack and not have any know conditions to the heart or even blood pressure. Your an Idiot.

  • @dlstartrek oh yeah? so i can have a heart attack just like that. maybe this man had really high blood pressure in the past, maybe he had taken medicines that have really bad side effects..... what do you know? doctor?

  • @thesuperkain2 In that case I must tender my condolences regarding your enfeebled mind and lack of social graces. A most unfortunate, although common, combination of conditions to be afflicted with.

Or perhaps you're just staying true to troll form. We can still hope that this is the case, however doubtful it might be.

  • @CircsC social graces? hahaha. yep, just keep dreaming my friend

  • @thesuperkain2 Of a place where people are well mannered and well educated? I certainly will despite you providing much evidence that such a dream may be vain.

  • @thesuperkain2 There are certain regulations and having a passenger onboard that is having a heart attack applies for the fact that the aircraft shall be diverted to the nearest runway.

  • @thesuperkain2 you are heartless dumb ass. That could have been you. I hope that you are never in a situation where your life depended on the mercy of others. What would you do then? Expect them to keep on and let you die? This may just be comments on youtube, and you might just be acting out for attention, but you should be a little less evil.

  • @dlstartrek i did NOT say that they must have continued to there destination, i just said that they must blame all the losses on him. next time, put your glasses on.pfff

  • @ToninoBacico To the airline, as with any other business, money is life, not the other way around. Dropping thousands of pounds of fuel and disrupting schedules costs a lot less than defending a lawsuit if they don't divert and the guy dies.

  • @ToninoBacico You can always make "life" by not wearing a condom, but can you make money that easily?

  • what a waste of fuel :(

  • My guess would've been that all the fuel's weight would've too much for the shorter runway.

  • What's an heart attack?

  • @luilory Somebody had a heart attack on the plane and the plane had to dump fuel in order to land

  • thank God the person survived!!

  • @ToninoBacico Who will pay for the 20-40 thousand dollars of wasted fuel? lol

  • i thought you're supposed to turn off all electronic devices during take off and landing?

  • @vinzz2008 That have internet or games that use internet video wont affect if uyouve got internet off bro :)

  • What plane is this??

  • If they want to land, why do they have to release fuel? Cant they just save it?

  • @ishtihussain With the fuel on-board, the aircraft would be above MLW (maximum landing weight).

  • @ishtihussain no the plane has to land with only the right amount of fuel, if more than that limit, the plane cannot land i.e. it may become unstable, thats why.

  • @addi138 Its not about fuel but whole weight, if its more than maximum landing weight then pilots usually dumb fuel unless its very serious emergency. Plane can land even when overweighted, but landing speed is usually needed to be higher then, and it may cause some damage to the aircraft so after that its needed to be checked by maintenance personnel before flying again.

  • @Pvjinflight thanks for the enlightenment dude!!

  • look at the wing flex

  • were did the flight originate from? and were was it supposed to go?

  • I am so glad the passenger/patient survived! I was on a flight (Air France) when a passenger had a heart attack over the Atlantic ocean. We diverted to the Azores and sadly the passenger died as we were landing. They managed to keep him alive for quite a long time with the help of a doctor and equipment, but after two hours it probably took such a toll on his heart and there was nothing they could do. I think a lot about his wife who was there also. She must have felt so helpless and alone!

  • One time I was on TG795 from LAX-BKK (3rd longest flight in the world) and a guy had a heart attack when we were exactly in the middle of the ocean. When we were over Japan, we couldn't land in Tokyo because it was 2 AM on March 12, 2011, 12 hours after their huge earthquake. We had to land in Osaka. Poor guy. Well, really, poor us because it turned an 18-hour flight into a 20.5-hour one. :)

  • @airbusisawesome How selfish can you be? Thinking of "poor you" when some guy's life was in danger. I hope to God that you're never in the same position and other passengers are complaining about how long they are in the air for!

  • wow they landed in the middle of nowhere, did they check there was a hospital in the area?

  • @dantiri Yeah exacly ? the procedures says, the nearest civil or military (approved required) but what if it is nowhere ?;)

  • thats cool (@¿@)

  • impresionante

  • zrzut paliwa?

  • Almost positive that landing is at Runway 8 at Goose Bay. CYYR.

  • @pmannion yes its at Goose Bay

  • @craterdeluna was the guy ok?

  • @pmannion it is.... i flight over that area on FSX

  • It's definitely not in Iceland. Iceland does not look at all like that anywhere and there are almost no trees there. Mst be Canada. Looks like a B747 just looking at the wings & flaps

  • Yes its a 747 from Air France Im not sure on the airport, (they didnt give info) I tought it was in the Canadian air force base Goose Bay.

We realse a big amount of fuel to reduce the landing weight

  • @craterdeluna Precious fuel.... there is a new flying policy, they cannot release fuel for the landing

  • why they have to release the fuel??

  • @yoelfebrian cause the airplane would be to heavy to land with all that fuel on board

  • yes, admitt the confussion, its a 747

  • its an Air France A330

If you search for "Air France emergency landing in Keflavik Iceland" can view the landing from the airport side

  • @NATSPAIN 747

  • @NATSPAIN 747-400 look at the flaps

  • @NATSPAIN No mate - it's a 747. You can tell by A) The Winglet, B) the slight downward bend of the wing by the winglet, C) the inboard aileron (which is not available on the A330), D) fuel dump nozzle location and E) flap configuration.

  • @NATSPAIN never saw so many trees in Iceland...and I'm living here :)

  • @NATSPAIN aavation "experts" like yourself make me laugh:)

  • its a 747-400

  • The plane is a a330 and landed at iceland

  • @muba747 747...

  • @muba747 just because there's ice and snow, doesn't mean to say that they've landed in iceland lol

  • yeah, what airline, where, and what plane?

  • what airline and where ?
