Text is NOT by Janice Kapp Perry. Monita Turley Robison wrote the words. This song was written for both of their sons who left on their missions around the same time. This version was done for a movie.
Hmm...not so much "soldiers to war" (see below) but maybe "soldiers on a mission of love." Anyway, I love at 2:43 how they are praying with folded arms. I love the folded arms way of praying. I never encountered that until I went to LDS summer camp.
I love this song so much. I dedicate this song to my Elders... especially Elder Bridy Colstan of Washington, Elder Benjamin Grigg of Colorado, Elder Keslen Jensen of Idaho and my best friend Elder Arthur Logan Hart and the Elders that I met and going to meet in the future. Spread the truth and remember We Love You!
hey dude pretty wicked video um I just wanted to as ka quick question cause my bro leaves on a mission next tuesday, erm do you ahve the original sheet music to this? if so can you please please sned it to me? I'd realyl appreciate it cause my mum wants to sing this for him. thanks for your time dude.
Hey! This is excellent!! Thanks for making this slide and share with all of us!
I have a question about the origin of the pictures, would you tell me how you get the pictures at 0:37 and 2:55? I wanna send the pic to a friend on mission.
This song has been stuck in my head all week, i was glad i was able to find it. I have the cd, but i lost it. But yea, i love all the songs like this and how they remade them. I also love all the movies
well i gess im one of those people. i like hymns in general but i also like rock music. especialy punk and the like. when i found the hymns done in a rock style i thought they were perfect for me. with regular rock (especialy the harder stuff) you so often have to worry about the content, and i have kids. the hymns dont loose their sacerdness for me (this song makes me cry every time i hear it) ether.
you said "when i found the hymns done in a rock style i thought they were perfect for me." You used the word HymnS<- does that mean that there are more? where can i find them do ya know thanks for a reply
go to hailstorm intertainment on the net. they are the people who did the r.m. and single ward. they have hymns done in diffrent stiles including rock. most are on the soundtracks for their movies.
I can appreciate an oft unorthodox rendition of a hymn or a spiritual song. But I'm pretty sure the Mormonism sub-culture (as occurs often) has over done it.
For the most part I like this rendition.
We seem to either take ourselves too seriously or to superciliously. Though I suppose that balance is the common struggle for humanity in general
I know what you mean. On my mission, there were a lot of fundamentalist christian rock bands. I thought they over-did it and I come back here and see more of the same. I will say this, I do enjoy the music in the church
this song is awesome! btw why i can't see the other songs from the movie?

Who is the artist at 2:00?
My brother was just killed in an accident, and he just received his call to Independence, Missouri, and it changed in an instant
krystalrsmith 1 year ago
@krystalrsmith
The artist's name is in the bottom corner of the screen. He is the famous Norman Rockwell, surely you've heard of him...
Sorry for your loss...
