Although most of these ads are filled with bullshit messages and propaganda, I actually think this one and the kid with the sloth on his leg are pretty clever and good for getting the message across. If you are a real friend, you should notice if one of your friends is starting to have a problem with drugs and just like the ad says, you should do something. Drugs can be great things but for some people, they really can take over their life.
Anybody question WHY they're at a train track in the first place? Usually when I get high, I'm not trying to catch the train... cause I'm home... cause I'm high.
@Djmoyd1055 the town i live in is so small that the railroad tracks, or at least near them, are the best place to smoke up outside. that's the only reason why i could think of about why they're by the train tracks
You people obviously don't understand this powerful commercial. The train represented any drug-related death including overdose. I knew someone who OD'ed, and it wasn't nearly as simple as pushing her out of the way. I did nothing because I thought she might have pushed me away. I lost her anyway. :(
its a metaphor damn the education system has failed alot of you here...by not doing something you are enabling your friend to kill themselves with drugs the same as knowing your friend is in immediate danger and not saying "hey watch out!!!"
Here's how I see it. You're being a good friend for telling the world about your friend's problem, but you'd be an even better friend if you, say, oh, I don't know...PUSH HER OUT OF THE DAMN TRAIN'S WAY!
But it's OK because the PSA set up a situation where the dumb bitch CAN just stand there, not push her friend out of the way, and pass the blame onto drugs for her death (murder because of her incompetence perhaps?)
I love the fucked up PSA messages that, ironically, probably made more people use drugs.
"its her lyyyyfe ryyyyyte" I always hated this commercial just because of how she said it like that. Its like she delivered everything fine...but then she sound so "valley" in the one friggin line. Wow its 2009....you'd think I could let this go. Shit I must sound crazy.
The person who disliked this PSA stood there and did nothing.

Thanks. You know I think that the drug PSAS aren't as whacked out today as they were back in the 80's and 90's.

I remember this PSA when I was in first grade. But this did not scare me as much as the "junkie when I grow up" commercials.

This was actually pretty scary when it first aired - the imagery of it was much more compelling than that frying egg.
