mae yo lo que hize fue que hagarre varios videos de youtube y paso a paso veia lo que los maes iban quitando, yo yo tomaba una foto, lo quitaba y tomaba otra foto, luego con los videos y mis fotos lo volvi a poner todo junto con mucho cuidado... y claro a la hora de quitar la cosas no le hacia fuerza a nada

@ticokaradepicha your ps3 should be fine. keep it horizontal and not standing up, and call sony and ask them how to clean the ps3!!! they should tell you not to open it up and just vaccum it out.

@boomy818 hahaha..I m already opened. I was scare but I did it and somethny was wort. First of all the control wasn't working so I opened again. Then, the cd stared but no sound. So I figuered out I make it a mistake so I tooked with some tecnitian friend I got and he help me. We cleaning and put all the piecies back and its great. And he gave me a ar fan for free because the real problem was the heat. I gonna buy a especial coolt for pc and I gonna fixed. Thanks again!

@ticokaradepicha Just clean it and make sure you have your hand on some kind of metal so you ground yourself and dont shot and ruin your ps3 and it will be fine

When you cleaned out the dust did it fix the problem? My Ps3 keeps shutting off and I'm thinking it could be the dust causing it to overheat.

well kind of... my ps3 used to turn off 30 min later i start playing, not matter what game, now it turns off sometimes, and only if i play like uncharted or killzone3, that have amazing graphics and really good looking fluids and shit... i usually have my ps3 horizontally but when i play those games y put it vertically and this way works just fine

from what you describe it sounds like your PS3 is shutting down as a safety measure against over heating and frying it's motherboard. Heavy graphics makes the graphics videocard work harder, which makes the console heat up faster. Maybe your cooling fan isn't doing its job. Even if you think you hear it running it might really be the HD running OR the fan is being slowed down by dust or just plain old worn out. Have a pc repair shop look at your fan or just have it cleaned out.

dude, your cleaning was necessary!

but if your system still keeps shutting down, also try yhe Restore File Data and Rebuild Database options from the Recovery menu.

there are a lot of vids on youtube about how to get into this menu.

this really helps your ps3!

I really want to clean my PS3 out as dust really bothers my soul and I wanted to get rid of it. Many people say to just leave it be but I feel as though it would operate better clean as it once was. How would I go about cleaning this? It's not under warranty as I got it refurbished almost a year ago so could I still clean this? should I? and could I get a warranty on it after I open it up and clean it? Thanks in advance!

the first screw is a "Torx" but i used a normal "Flathead" screwdriver and it worked... but i think its better if you have the Torx screwdriver

You should not use a vacuum to clean electronic components, they can cause electrostatic damage. A can of compressed air is much safer.

@fromflamestoearth actually those air cans are some of the worst things you can use on a computer, if they are knocked over or turned upside down they will spray liquid, and actually a lot of technicians will tell you not to use them, unless what every you are cleaning wont be damaged by it, and the guy is right about the vacuum being bad, but only if it is on suck, if you have a shop vac which can blow instead, or use a air compressor with a nozzle attachment would be the best.

@fromflamestoearth Lol. That's the percs of having a slot loading drive. Nothing ever has to come out into the open and the disc gets a brushing as it enters the drive.
