About the which is better/harder/whatever argument, it's all subjective. Baseball and softball are alike in some ways but very different for the most part. Being a softball player, I'm biased, but I just think softball can be more intense than baseball. I'm not saying pro baseball players aren't consistently on ESPN's top 10 memorable plays every week, but I am saying that with the dimensions of softball being the way they are, the overall pace of the game is more exciting to watch.
Softball in the harder in my opinion because of the bigger ball and smaller field which leaves us less reaction time for everything. Baseball can easily make a double play. In Softball it rarely happens.

Baseball players who think softball is so fucking easy can suck it. A softball is bigger an heavier, sure, its easy to hit, but its not easy to make it go far. Also, being heavier makes it harder to throw it far and fast. I'd like to see a baseball player stand out in center field and and throw someone out at home with a softball. This is because, from the batters point of view, the ball is being pitched underneath and is coming up on an angle, which is hard to see. And yeah, the field is shorter because the ball is heavier. Baseball=5.2oz Softball=6.9oz, whether you think that weight difference matters or not, it does.

@pinkdancingpopcorn if the catcher drops it on the third strike.. the batter can run to first base and if she is safe she is on and if she is out obviously she is out.

yes its a lil bit harder to throw and hit a softball, but thats why the fields are smaller.. baseball pitchers are farther back because they throw faster..imagine taking a guy that throws 96 miles an hour and moving him 30 feet closer, or taking a girl that throws 65 and moving her 30 feet back.. not saying its not harder or easier to play either.. just saying theres a reason the dimensions are the way they are..

Baseball players who think softball is so fucking easy can suck it. A softball is bigger an heavier, sure, its easy to hit, but its not easy to make it go far. Also, being heavier makes it harder to throw it far and fast. I'd like to see a baseball player stand out in center field and and throw someone out at home with a softball. If they don't think a softball player could do it, then I'll do it again, I've already done it twice.

@XximonlymexX actually, from study, a softball is harder to hit than a baseball. for a 95 mph fast ball (baseball) to cross the plate, it takes .385 milliseconds. for a 70 mph fast ball (softball) it takes .380 milliseconds. the trajectory of a baseball to get to the catcher's glove is in a downwards motion- it is easier to drop your hands than raise them... a softball's trajectory is released from the hip and has to go up. it is harder to raise your hands. so it is harder to hit a softball.

Actually, a softball is harder to hit. It's the way it is pitch. It's hard to hit something being pitched underhand than overhand. This is because, from the batters point of view, the ball is being pitched underneath and is coming up on an angle, which is hard to see. A baseball is pitched different, so that, from the batter's point of view, the ball is higher and is coming down on an angle. Btw, I agree with you completely! :DDD

@crosoccer1 Wanna bet? I was told in the 8th grade that I have a scholarship coordinator for softball, and I've been starting varsity since I was a freshman. And yeah, the field is shorter because the ball is heavier. Baseball=5.2oz Softball=6.9oz, whether you think that weight difference matters or not, it does.
Also, baseball pitchers have much more strength in their arms pitching a smaller lighter ball, no fucking duh its going to be pitched faster.

@XximonlymexX congrats its not that hard to get onto varsity for softball but it is for baseball i have 41 strikeouts on 4 games and im on jv and im also pretty sure you cant get an average of 10.25 strikeouts a game
