  • you can have the most effective, safe, cheap, and very good output surgical procedure at California Surgical Institute.

Maior ainda é a transformação interna.

  • Sure SSanders have surgery outside the US where medicine isn't quiet as advanced and then if you have complications in the near or far future you might just die before you get there. What a joke!

  • Congratulation girl.

  • ... do you keep big scars there??? because then i think before was better, why scar yourself?

  • I used to work in surgery assisting doc's and I have seen it LIVE,so I know what u are goin thru, but its a good thing for those who want it, uuuumm ,the verticle scar? The docs I worked with never did that, what is up with that. Good thing, way to go!

  • why is it you have a vertical scar? most tummy tucks have a hip to hip, not a vertical..

  • @nissi1821 she had to much excess skin higher up on the stomach as well,

  • i kinda got sick at the left over stomach part but then i realized you where really awesome for going through with this

  • wow id rather stick with my stretch marks and flap XD

  • WOW gurl!! your results are awesum!! goog 4 u!!

  • Thanks for posting these, surgery is never fun but it looks like it was worth it :)

  • You are so BRAVE!! God bless you for sharing with all of us!! You are an amazing woman!

  • the vertical scar is AWFUL .I have seen a lot of tummy tuck images but never that kind of cut before

  • what tye of diet what foods

  • South America is for far the best place in the world for people who are considering a plastic surgery at affordable cost. I had all my surgeries done there at the MakeoverTravel clinic. My see my results just perfect. surgeons there are reconized to be the best in the world and it's much cheaper than in the US.

  • @SamanthaSander

I disagree, i had my tummy tuck here and it looks awesome!! My docters name is leonard hochstein.. Pull hem up and look at hes before and after pictures...

  • jurk

  • thank you so much for being brave enough to show us these pictures and your adventure. I've just found your videos, i'll keep watching. THank you so much again.

  • omfg that taken off stomache is disgusting eww eww eww

  • Congratulations! I'm really happy for you. Thanks for sharing this. :)

By the way. Does anyone know what's the difference between a tummy tuck or liposuction?

  • you look sweeter and sweeter as you loose weight.. really sweet.. :)

  • Can you please explain why the vertical cut? Also, you don't show the 'after' or is there another video?

    ...more explanation needed, please!

  • The vertical cut is because she had a 'fleur de lis' tummy tuck. For people w/ a lot of skin above the navel and to the sides.... I only know cause thats what I'll have done as well. Her results look awesome too!

  • WOW That looks pain full!

  • Why was your tummytuck cut open from the top of your bellybutton? shouldn't it just be from the bottom like a c-section where it will be covered by your panties?

  • It must be very very hard to go through all these, but you are so very brave!!

I really wish you will always be happy and healthy

  • The vertical scar is from a Fleur di lis TT. This is the TT docs have recommended for me. It's so nice to see someone else who's had it done and how it will look.

  • I also don't understand as to why the vertical cut. With that aside I thank you dearly for sharing your experience. Some of us worry about things like having a tummy tuck done. Or the results of having lost a lot of weight. Thanks to people like you who are willing to share their stories, we can get an inside input on the before and after. You look great. And again thanks for sharing.

  • i`m think you did a beautiful job and now keep going to exercise and a good diet. i did liposuction 2 weeks ago, i`ts very painful, but the results will be wonderful. the scar in your tummy will fade away and you will be very happy. lots of love.

  • What is the vertical scar all about? Should only have needed a hip to hip with at most a small "t" junction.... sue the surgeon I say!

  • It's from a fleur de lis tummy tuck...or vertical T tummy tuck.

  • I just watched this video with my fiance. she says she wants to have one but i think she does not need one. in my opinion everyone should be comfortable with their body. no matter what your size or shape. i understand why people do that to themselves because i used to be insecure about myself because i was not good looking. but i dont care anymore what other ppl think. i hope that your videos do not encourage women to do this to their bodies because their bodies are just perfect the way they are

  • damn gurl u needed that shit!

  • you must be a asshole for thinking that she needed it.

  • iam an asshole for telling the truth she had a lot of hanging skin more than i have ever seen before! but watever ok iam and asshole your a jackass for being so god damn dumb!

  • oh my dear god u woman are out of ur freakin minds to let some doctor hack u up like that

  • I say Bravo.... You look amazing and I'm sure you feel amazing so who cares if they cut you one way or the other As long as you are happy and healthy then its great. i'm pre op 3 days going in on Monday for GB and Can't wait. I'm so ready for my life to begin and live the life I have always been ment to live.

  • Why the giant scar??? I have never seen a tummy tuck like this. They butchered your stomach. Couldn't a smooth belly be achieved with a bikini cut??? You are still a beautiful woman, but why???

  • but whay, why WHY WHYYYYYYYYY they did perform a VERTICAL cut??? I have nerver seen that before in a tummy tuck .I think is NOT something desirable is supossed they just have to leave an horizontal scar that you can hide in your underwear.

  • wow you look good now

  • hey how long did it take for you to recover to a point where you can say that you can go out and play sports, etc?

  • Good for you. I had two c-sections and lost the tummy weight from cardio and crunching...but I will be having another c-section in November and if after time I cant bounce back and if it effects my confidence I would definately go for the tummy tuck. I thought they cut across for that operation tho..They seemed to take away alot from you, I bet it was sore ! Still tho, I bet it was worth it !!!!!!!!

  • Hello, you r very pretty n bright!!! i had a baby 19 months ago by c- section. i wonder, if it would hurt like that if i'm getting tummy tuck. It is so hard to lose the weight. can you tell me the cost please? thank you. i'm 5'3 and 125 lbs. my tummy is big n i'm not comfortable at all.

  • Good for you!! You look amazing. Don't listen to stupid people. They are just jealous because you now look better then them. I had gastric by pass as well in November 2008. I was 328 and now down to 171. Still waiting for my tummy tuck. Does it hurt a lot? I'm just curious. I can go for mine soon. I'm just waiting to hit the 150-160 mark, then I'm going for it. I'm almost there. Again hun, you look beautiful. Your a real inspiration to all of us bigger people.

  • Hurts reall bad, but WORTH every second of agony

  • Hey Ameila, could you please tell me the song playing in this video, I love it, thanks.

  • Ben Folds is the singer "Still" is the song It was on the "Over The Hedge" Movie soundtrack

  • Good for you!! You've got to live your life your own way, and do what's right for you. And you look beautiful, too. Be proud!

  • It doesn't look real!!!

  • i rily admire ur baraveness n ur focus to loose weight.u luk great n ur very cute.i had mine yesterday n its true it hurts.n its hard to go n d comfort room to sit. n its very heavy to walk too.

  • im considering doin a tummy tuck can u tell me how bad it really is how much pain and how long it takes to heal? ty

  • Well I made videos and explained it, butt to be real honest... it hurts ALOT. Somedays I had to keep reminding myself why I did it. As long as you focus on the outcome you can do it. I would trade nothing for doing it. I love my flat stomach!

  • i just wanted to say that your videos are so interesting...im so glad that you do them. i usually just search for your videos, then realized i could subscribe. so now im going to catch up from beginning.

Your doing a great job. If i had the nerve to do gastric, i hope i would look as good as you!

  • Thanks for subbing and good luck!

  • Thanks for sharing. I am planning on having a tuck done within the next few months.

  • I am so happy for you. People do not understand that at times this goes above and beyond aesthetics. This is about your self esteem and how you feel with your self. Like we say in NY, U Go Girl.

    many blessings.

  • I can't thank you enough for sharing all of your videos!... The good, the bad, and the ugly (i.e. the bag of skin) LOL. You are beautiful, and you have come so far! You are a true inspiration for me! Thank you again! XOXO

  • I agree mesheme 84 she is so beautiful and brave but even before the surgery she was beautiful and she's aparently a talented film maker too!!

  • omg you are so brave and i love you and your videos but the skin thing was pretty flippin gross, but i guess i understand, you are saying good bye to the old you-hey did your insurance cover that? which insurance?

  • You look so different now than what you did.

    You should be very proud.

You are gorgeous and an inspiration.

  • you remind me of Amy Lee from evanessence. Looking great! congrats =)

  • Thanks! i think she is so pretty too!

  • How did your insurance pay for a tummy tuck i wish mine would...but i dont think they would..hmmm...lucky you. Well thats good.

  • I thought that was something that DID NOT need to be done.. LoL She was no fat from the get go. And i think them scars look worse then her fat did. Sigh went from yikes to NASTY and paid 4 even. WOW!

  • Pretty crazy...you are a strong girl, I got all teary eyed...I AM SUCH A WUSS...hah

  • Congratulations. I had a tummy tuck in October, 2+ months ago. I'm curious, why the scare down the middle? I have one hip-to-hip and all the videos and photos I viewed, I've never seen one with scar down the middle. Curious. You look great. Doesn't it feel great, I feel so much better, it was the best thing I ever did for myself.

  • I lost 140 pounds so I needed the extra incision to remove more skin or else I would have been wider....

  • Wow, that's amazing!

When I got my tummy tuck done they only took off 5 pounds. =/

What insurance company do you have?

Just curious since when I did have insurance they wouldn't cover anything. So I used my college money for mine.

    Congrats!

  • ouch ouch ouuucch!! im having the gastric bypass surgery Jan 2nd 2009, im only 19yrs old and my heaviest was 269lbs, i love ur videos cuz your real, u dont sugar coat things (kinda of a bad joke there lol ) but i've been watching a bunch of videos about ppl who've had it and im trying to stay positive and see what i need to be prepared for. im assuming i'll need a tummy tuck because i carry most of my weight there n it kinda scares me..mainly cuz i dont like pain but i'll pay off in the end.

  • If you have kids, won't that just stretch out your skin again?

  • I am sure it would, but as I have said in several videos I am not having kids. If we decide to have them (we plan not to) we had already decided long ago we would adopt because there are too many children in the world who need homes. It would be irresponsible for us to bring another into the world. We recycle everything and my hubby works on alternative fuels, why not take it a step further?

  • Wow, it's good to see that some people out there actually care about the environment. I recycle and switched to veganism two months ago. I am losing weight right now, and need to lose over 100 pounds naturally, and I am only 16. ;_; It's sad, I know. I'm terrified of having loose skin. It's been two months and I've already lost 10-13 pounds just from cutting back on food.

  • Hay girlfriend I love this video too.I want to get a tummy tuck Im trying to save up and lose wieght all at the same time....Your an inspiration.

  • did your insurance pay for the tummy tuck or did it come out of your pocket?

  • insurance

  • That looks like it was so painful! And yeah, the pic of the old tummy was gross.... but interesting all at the same time, I think I would have taken a pic of it too...LOL.

I'm sure it's been a hard journey, but you look great and I'm sure you feel alot better too!!

  • CONGRATS!!!!! xoxxo Steve

  • Thanks for sharing! I would have never guessed you had that much excess skin before. You looked tiny then, too!

  • what is tummy tuck???

  • it is a surgery to remove skin from the abdomen and tighten the skin to create a flatter stomach area. In some cases they also tighten the abdominal muscles as they did in my case. I was 305 pounds a year ago and i lost a lot of weight, I had a tummy tuck to remove my excess skin and create a flat stomach

  • How much is a tummy tuck?

  • I have heard it is about 8-10 thousand out od pocket, but the local hospital sent me a bill of what they were charging the insurance and it was a little over 33,000!!!!!!

  • i've never seen a tuck done with the vertical incision too. Very interesting. Can you talk about why they did it that way? I am curious because I am in the process of losing 170 pounds.

  • I explained that in my Week 53 Post-op Update, and my surgeon Dr Suber also added several comments explaining more completely. Check it out!

  • I'm looking at this slide show and sobbing. I have great empathy for you, my brave surgical warrior. I'm down 140 pounds so far and I know the plastics are in my future. Thank you for sharing and for showing the "after" of you smiling and freeeee!!!! Much love.

  • Thanks sweetie!

  • oh and will you show what your tummy looks like when the stitches are out?

  • sure, but there aren't stiches, I am held together with surgical glue! and it has already peeled off. I have a few tiny scabs but I will show it when I feel it is presentable

    Thanks!

  • do you have to go a long time without intimacy after your tummy tuck surgery? I know I will probably end up getting one so if its not too personal a question I guess thats one of the things I am wondering.

  • a good 4 weeks or so...

  • WOW. I mean WOW! That is incredible. I can't believe the courage you have. It's amazing. OK, the whole stomach on the floor thing is crazy. It looks like rubber. :0

  • This is so cool! - and surreal!

You are so cool! - and real! :)

    Congrats! and loads of love!

  • That is such a great pictorial, Thanks!

  • Amazing. I am so happy for you!

  • did you get your ab muscles tightened too or just the tummy tuck? i read they usually do both.

  • Oh yeah, they tightened the abs a bunch. i still scream when I sneeze right now!

  • Thank you for showing us this it took a lot of "guts" LOL ... Nah just wanted to say thanks so much I hope you are feeling better both inside and out

    Beena

  • I couldn't see your surgery cuz my computer is messed up but I saw the picture. Wow Amelia, you are so strong! I knew that you would be all right as you have endured so much to achieve your goal. May God bless you abundantly and keep you protected and strong. Keep on shinning on girl. When asked at Weight Watchers what motivated me, I told them you did. Thanks for sharing your life and being so very real. Keep on keeping on.....Gina la Cubana from Santa Cruz, California

  • WOW! Amazing! Is that the only area you need to have nip/tucked, just curious.

  • nah i have tons of skin on my breasts and my armpits

  • You need to grow up and stop being so ignorant. Look at the shit you have on your webpage; the intelligence of a dust mite. You are a Psycobitch, 'Rozzalenda',the shit that sticks to Amelia's shoe just to be scraped on a dirty ditch. You can't put Amelia down, she rocks and is more real than you could ever be. You'll never know the kind of love and empathy it takes to accomplish her journey and share it, even while in pain. She is beautiful inside and out. You're an useless piece of trash.

  • errrr gross. i worry about the belly button stuff, must feel weird.

  • It has healed a good bit now and looks pretty normal

  • Whoa nelly! That was some serious skin! I can't beleive your whole journey up until now. I have follwed you fromthe very beginning and I just went back and watched your very first video again and WOW. It's like watching two totally different people that sound the same. Amazing...

  • I loved the video; although, I don't want to be morbid...but the video was very informative and looking forward to mine in Feb. 2009.

  • no, I knew that people would want to know. Totally fine. Thanks! and good luck in Feb!

  • no wonder you were in pain girl

    speedy recovery

    -barry:)

  • Can I know how much that old belly weighed? I'm glad it's off of you...whoo-hoo!!

  • The plastic surgeon said 8 pounds of skin removed

  • wow I cannot imagine how painful that must have been and I bet you are still tender. know what major surgery is because I have had many but that looked like it hurt pretty bad.

  • My God Amelia, what a major surgery that was! The tummy tucks I've seen on tv are usually only an incision at the bikini level, geesh, you have been through a lot and you look absolutely fabulous hun,, big hugs xoxo Becky

  • I don't do anything half way LOL

  • this is awesome!

  • Awesome video! You rock girl! So happy for your results. HOWEVER, forgive me if the last few pics looked like crime scene pics!

    Donna:)

  • few assailants hook you up with lidoaine and lortab LOL

  • :D.... u r brave girl...

I bet u can't wait till u see the final results

I love the song.... can u tell me the name the song?

    thanx

  • Yikes - you're so brave....

  • whoa! all of that skin was left, you were right to go through with the operation. that was alot of skin ameilia omg it looked sorta plastic laying on that blue paper lol. Well you must feel so relieved that its not there anymore. Get you some 100 percent palmers cocoa butter it will make your scars look minimal with time.

  • Thanks, most people who know me were confused why I would want a tummy tuck, but just because they couldn't see it didn't mean it was there.

I have already become quite the investor in palmers, heck the stock market isn't safe! LOL

  • Wow- seeing the 2 long crossing scars makes a person realize just how huge of a surgery this was. You're braver than I girl.

  • You continue to be a pioneer!!! Thanks so much for being so brave and courageous to show these photos.

I'm just starting my weight loss journey so plastic surgery is not an option for me now; however, I am considering it for some time next October. Now I know what to expect!!

    thanks for sharing :-)

  • Thanks for sharing Amelia!

  • awesome pics!!! Yay for you!

  • Oh me oh my, i had open gastric bypass remember, I know what that pain must feel like being cut up like that.. Dont know if I could go through it again though , thinking about the tummy tuck but its hard knowing what I already felt, thanks for sharing.

  • The worst part is the cuts over my hip bones, that horzontal line went past my hip bones on both sides!

  • Amelia! WOW! That was great! Did you donate your excess skin to a "skin bank?" Does this mean we will get to see your boobs if you get the girls done? LMAOOOOOO! The world wants to know!

  • I asked about that but they said the hospital handles that. It was something I htough about before the surgery

  • WOW, It's right there in front of me and all I can say is WOW!! lol jk. Brave...so brave! Loved the pics

  • What a good, brave and beautiful girl you are.

  • Owie, Owie, Owie, OWIE! Yowzers, that looks painful - but no doubt worth it. I'd be tired of big belly, too. I laughed out loud seeing the "old belly" lying flacid on blue hospital paper! So long "old friend" and good riddance! Amelia won't miss you! LOL. Guess no burial for that, eh? (Ew).

  • Thanks so much for sharing, Amelia. I can't wait to see what your tummy looks like once it's completely healed. It looks like the surgeon did a great job!

  • Wow! That is shocking but informative. Your tummy looks great already!

  • that was wicked cool pics of your skin!

  • I'm just curious. Uhm, why did they do the split up the middle of your stomach too up to your sternum. I've seen some tummy tucks where they only leave a bikini line scar and they pull things down and just remove the belly button through the top. Meaning, they keep your original button and just relocate it. I would think that making a new one would be worse.

  • That is my original belly button, just put in a new spot as you mentioned, BUT the vertical cut is to bring those muscles in too, they are stretched out from being big. A lot of people who lose over a hundred pounds notice that like 2nd tier of stomach like a double roll, the vertical cut makes everything smooth and tighter. I am very pleased with it

  • Oh ok, I figured it wasn't just cosmedic. I just had never seen it done like that and was concerned. Thanks for fulfilling my knowledge.

I have to say not only do I learn new things on here, but I appreciate the little things more. Thanks Amelia. =0)

  • thanks for sharing, wow, take care

  • Youv'e come far my friend:)Im happy for you that you are happy with your new figure..Hugs

  • You did a great job on the video. Thanks Amelia.Ouch...I'm so happy for you..Thank you for all your honest comments and being you..Hugs diana

  • Thanks for sharing. How'd you get a picture of the skin they took off?

  • The surgeon e-mailed it to me! he was so proud LOL

  • I think that was very cool of you to share this with us, even though I know it's very personal. Thanks!!!!

  • Just keeping it real LOL

  • Whoa cool, lol, thanks for sharing. Are you going to share the finished product once you're all healed?

  • Totally, you know me I will show it.

  • Wow that was a big ole chunk of stomach!!! I wish that was MY skin laying there!! LOL But anywho..you look really great Amelia and you deserve it!!! Good luck with the rest of your "body project"!!! ♥♥♥

  • wow..looking great. Oh my that last picture was right off of nip tuck...thanks for sharing!

You are so brave. Not sure if I can do it. I want to but not sure...Shannon

  • omg!!! That is amazing.. How were you able to get such a good pick of that skin?

  • The surgeon e-mailed it to me

  • Thanks for showing us the video. I am soo proud of you. You came a long way hun. Keep smiling. I have a long ways to go still before i decide if i want to do that. you take care. And may god bless you. Hugs Ann

  • ahhh i really AM morbidly curious.

    thanks for sharing.. really.. lol

  • wow!! more power to you! no wonder you were in pain!! but you are looking great now and you look happy and thats all that counts!

  • You know I wanted to see the pictures..I am so morbid lol...Your stomach looks so great...I can't wait to see the finished product :)

  • you're not alone.. i was waiting for those to surface myself! haha

  • I'm a nurse and I don't get grossed out easily! I love this type of video. Thanks so much for sharing. Helps those of us who hope to have plastics one day to see what it really looks like.

    Dena

  • Amelia,

Awesome! Looks very painful but wow you're looking great, what an amazing journey.

It would be cool if the patients who opt for any sort of plastic surgery where skin is removed, could donate skin to folks who have been in fires, for skin grafts, etc... No idea if they would be able to keep the tissue alive for that but just an idea. I hope all is well with you. Thank you for all that you do! Take Care & Much Love!

    Peace!!

    ~Kasey

  • I actually asked about the donation thing. they said the hosptial handles it blah blah

  • Awesome!!! You look great, and seeing your old tummy there was CRAZY...in a good way, knowing it's gone forever! Loved the video

  • WOW I am shocked and speechless as well. I hope your doing okay!

  • WOAH! BACON!

This is a stupid question, but do the nerves re-route, or do the sensations of touching your new tummy feel like they come from the sides?

  • they feel normal, but my hips are numb

  • your pre tummy looks like my tummy now. Hope you are feeling better :D Nicol

  • Wow!!! I'm speechless You look fabulous
