  • Channel 11 was my favorite station until it became affiliated with the WB/CW. I would watch old cartoons like Bugs Bunny and Popeye in the afternoons, the news in the evenings with Bill Rees, Don Clark, Jon Sloane and Christine Buck and the Stooges on Saturday nights.

  • @joejoewest No kidding. I loved their logo back then.

  • If it wasn't for 11's Kids WB, I would have never got introduced to my favorite cartoon of all time, Teen Titans. Damn now it sucks, ever since they became CW 11. >.> BTW this commercial is the same age as me. xD

  • There's more creativity in this 20-year old PROMO than what exists in the actual shows being b'cast in 2009.

The brain-rot of America is complete.

  • This is the same logo they used in New York/WPIX, and in Puerto Rico with Tele-Once(the logo was fatter).

  • Pretty cool. We need more classic KPLR stuff on here!

  • Ah yes the good old days of Channel 11, long before those crappy shows from the WB and CW. Miss the Stooges on saturday nights and Blues hockey with Dan Kelly first, then Ken Wilson on the mic on a regular basis, rather than just the weekend games that's broadcast now. But I guess those days are long gone

  • Yeah I miss the old days of Channel 11. I remember when I was like 4, they used to air a Bugs Bunny hour. And I used to love the Stooges as well. Why did they have to take away my childhood?

  • AWESOME! I have lived in St. Louis my whole life, and i miss the way channel eleven used to be. Before the WB and CW crap came along! Thanks for the upload!

  • St Louis 11 ruled! I loved watching the three stooges every weekend and the disney afternoon. "Leave it on eleven"

  • wow i almost forgot about leave it on eleven!

  • I miss Old School Channel 11 too :(

  • yeah! channel 11. i grew up in st. louis.

  • Speaking of KPLR, it also conducted emergency broadcast system tests during afternoon cartoon blocks during most of the 1980s as well into the 1990s until the WB signed on. It is another TV market that scared most afterschool kids in St. Louis unlike Detroit with channel 20 cartoon blocks and Detroit's one also became the WB too. Did KPLR in St. Louis conduct EBS tests during cartoon blocks which gets the market other than Detroit to scare most afterschool kids?

  • The local VO at the end sounded possessed. I think I need to change my shorts.
