this is really well done!! could you say more about the ensemble? is it based around beatlookup? what is the granular efx you are using, cuz they sound great! (and that's after youtube compression even, hah)
@1nfinitezer0 Nah it was based more around the Exile beat chopper patch.. after reverse engineering I built my own with a few more features added. For example the Exile patch allowed you to access the first 2 beats of the loop, where this allows you to access any beat of a loop and assign it to any button on the wiimote. There are no granular effects as such.. however it makes use of "buzz" from the exile patch which could be seen as granular I guess.
its not for the wii. all you need is the wiimote nunchuck and a bluetooth connection for your pc. then use some sort of PIEglove script im guessing to run it
Saddens me that nothing any 3rd party developers will ever make the entire 2 more years (or shorter) that the Wii is out will be anywhere near this good.
I'll let you know now - I don't have the time to sit around and learn to mime pressing buttons on a Wiimote to jungle :P And if I did do that, I would've chosen a good song at least.. not one that sounds like someone making music with a Wiimote..
@tommitytom suprisingly its not that bad for what it is. im a big dnb freak and it sounds damn good im suprised. did you have to make any custom software?
Mate, you kill it! Thinking of doing something similar in MaxMSP when I get my hands on some controllers. Respect! Would love to get a copy of that ensemble, any plans to release it?
Maybe when Wii homebrew is possible I'll be able to make it in to a game that will be playable on the Wii.. but until then it's just a program on a PC :)
4 bars - it had the odd reverse and timestretch thrown in for a bit of variation, as this version of the beat chopper didn't have a timestretcher. There is a record function built in though, where if I hold Z and hit the Home button, it records whatever chopping I do, and plays it back as a loop.
P.S. - I would like to ask if you have some other tracks we can check out, cause I can't seem to get to your channel :( Cause if you can do this with a wiimote, I can't imagine what stuff you got going for real :) So sick !!!
could you please explain how you've done this? i've managed to get my wiimote to show up in logic and its registering my movements but i can't seem to assign it to anything. and the patch you're using on reaktor, is that part of the library or is it your own ensemble? if the latter is the case would there be any possibilty of obtaining it. any info much appreciated.
haven't you noticed that even guitar players even change their guitars during songs and in between sets.
take a look at eddy van halen, thier most popular song to date is with a synth, i know what i am talking about, i'm not saying don't use the amen to sound cool or to hate, i say it because everyone uses it as if there are any other breaks to abuse, shit is tired and played out.
kinda sucks when every jungle sounds the same ya know
Dude you say you know your shit, but you don't imho. The amen has a frequency spectrum that can be changed to no end for getting various soundings to it. Usually jungle amens are layered and more diverse than just an eq-ed, distorted, gated, compressed or whatever amen. You know what sux ? Those kick-hat-snare-hat rock beats... What's the deal with that, huh... Insane shit dude - keep it up !!! Blew me away !!!
I guess if you don't like jungle, and be more of a rock fan, then the amen seems mediocre. Although I too, do not care too much for this one, I really like the performance and the setup. Great work and inspiring too, even for non jungle appreciaters!
that's really cool. how much of the break edits are written out before hand and how much is controlled with the wii? and what parameters are you controlling?

Well being able to hack the Wiimote will make it alot easier to play with a Wii Emulatour Because then so can you just buy a game place it in your CD/DVD Reader then plug in the WiiMote and then start up the Wii Emulatour And enjoy all the games Wii Has to offer since you wont have to buy the console :D
well it will probbly come a emulatour next year and then some sweet games on Thepiratebay for wii then you just mount it with the emulatour since thats exactly what you do with a GC , PS2 , Xbox emulatour
this is fucking militant you are a genius
