Getting attacked and killed by a shark is terrible based on what I have seen on TV. They just come up and bite you and wait for you to bleed mostly to death, then come and take a bite, eat it and come back for more. I guess that’s my primal fear, getting eaten.

I saw a big shark fin off Malibu Surfrider back in 1967 cruising about a quarter mile from shore. Now I know it must have been a great white like that. It was just cruising very slowly. We ignored it and kept on surfing. We didn't know about "Jaws" in those days and had never heard of a shark attack around LA.
