20 seconds....I think I could almost take you with my stock MS360, 20" bar, and a sharp chain....just looking at the way you're bucking the log. You're engaging most of the bar in the log. I buck by starting with a horizontal down cut...moving to a vertical position...then a down cut to finish. I think it's more efficient at clearing the chips...and (as long as you've got a sharp chain) I do mean chips, not dust. Happy loggin'...
By the way, the USPS is looking for their mail bin.....
the chain was new out of the box log was very dry that is how i always bucked up till now funny thing is about the bin the usps gave the damn thing to us
Hey man, do your homework before you go saying stuff like this. Not only is Stihl the #1 saw in the world among Professionals and Homeowners, but they are also NOT sold at any chain store such as WalMart, Lowes, or Home Depot. Husqvarna is sold at the chain stores. Husqvarna builds good stuff, but not quite like Stihl. Also, nobody stands behind their product like Stihl does. Look at the thousands of individual Stihl dealers. Some stores exist just to sell Stihl tools. Don't agree? Prove it.
i could see why you would think that but the log is only 22" in diamter it is really small watch my falling 32" maple with stihl ms460 now that is a big tree
huh i just cut a 42" 100+ ft. tree and I'M twelve i almost craped my self when my dad said alright ill take the small one u take one "what" but i got it down and am still fine (phew) nto to sound like a show off but just sayin
I need to buy a chainsaw to cut few trees behind my parents house bc my piece shit craftsman doesn't work any more (but used it for 5 yrs and cut few tress with it). This video making me tempted to buy a 460 but I would be too much for me. I'm thinking about buying the 290 Farmboss, do you have any advice?
well i also have an ms 270 400 dollars i think some were around that and i felled timber with it for 2 years and it never failed 290 is a good saw but pushes 500 bucks need more help p.m. me
27 in oak in my yard do u think a 290 can handle it? p.s. do u think a 460 will kickback with a 3/8 rsc3? that time ur 270 kicked back how'd it kick back did it come straight back or what? i think with a rmc3 or a rsc3 3/8 it would'nt kick back! may cut down the oak with my grandeady's mcculoch timber bear saw but i need a pull cord too do so when i cut it down i'll send u a vid!
if you know what you are doing on your back cut cut from one side to the other like you would cutting up a log bigger than the bar length but you have to cut equally on both sides and hell ya the rsc will kick back they kick on me all the time rmc3 will not
yes RS as well as RSC will kick but those kick back can be much lower.
It is so:
If you are going to cut some hard wood, the middle chain teeth angle which has normally about 65 degree can be recharpened lower but not too much.. the onset of the teeth become smooth and they will cut easyer in smaller pressure.. This technique is not so important in soft " light" wood. The chain can strike under the pressure...and don't sharp your depth teeth too much.
Nice work, that Stihl 460 Magnum.
Looks like cutting yourself a slice of ham... :]
