usa can't force indians and chinese to leave the country because they have taken a lot of debt from those countries...having those talented people in usa could actually help usa in repaying the debt..but unfortunately experts say that mathematically, usa can never become free of debts....but usa doesn't seem to learn, they are continuing to waste their money on the other countries unnecessarily,they take money from one country and spend it on the other and blame the immigrants for the loss.
I certainly wasn't aware that 1700's India controlled 24% of the World's wealth & I'd be curious how someone came up with that number. How do you go back in time over 300 years and come up with a number like that? However today Switzerland has a standard of living far surpassing anything in India. India's GDP is much larger because there's a billion people there. But in terms of standard of living and quality of life-no comparism. And then there's the climate. The heat of India is just too much.

There are a lot of smart Indians because there are a lot of Indians. If you have over a billion people then you are gonna have a lot more smart people than an country like Switzerland which only has 7.6 million people. But is the AVERAGE Indian smarter than the average Swiss? I don't think so and that's what really counts. I've been to both countries and if I had to live in either, I'd choose Switzerland in a microsecond. So it's a lot more complicated that the total number of smart people.

There is a general correlation between brains and wealth. It isn't absolute but it's one of the best indicators. In the 1700's as today, Switzerland is a lot better place to live than India. @Italofono2 There is a concept of PPP (Purchasing Power Parity), cost of living is dependent on PPP to a large extent so GDP/capita may not be right to use here. It makes a lot of sense for people looking for "growth" which is happening in countries like India, and China. If people are looking for opportunities, they are ample in India. I am not against America, but I feel India is just starting its rise and America is plummeting (as data also says) in terms of growth.
I think it speaks very poorly of immigrants who have come looking for their American Dream, to abandon ship at the first sign of trouble! it speaks volumes about the fact that these people have no true identity as they only follow the money trail and aren't concerned about the host country that has helped them achieve the dream in the first place. I have plenty of friends who are from India and regularly make the trip back and forth from the U.S. I do not see them as "parasites" or have any reason to believe in racism. I certainly wasn't aware that 1700's India controlled 24% of the World's wealth & I'd be curious how someone came up with that number. How do you go back in time over 300 years and come up with a number like that? However today Switzerland has a standard of living far surpassing anything in India. India's GDP is much larger because there's a billion people there. But in terms of standard of living and quality of life-no comparism. And then there's the climate. The heat of India is just too much.

There are a lot of smart Indians because there are a lot of Indians. If you have over a billion people then you are gonna have a lot more smart people than an country like Switzerland which only has 7.6 million people. But is the AVERAGE Indian smarter than the average Swiss? I don't think so and that's what really counts. I've been to both countries and if I had to live in either, I'd choose Switzerland in a microsecond. So it's a lot more complicated that the total number of smart people.

There is a general correlation between brains and wealth. It isn't absolute but it's one of the best indicators. In the 1700's as today, Switzerland is a lot better place to live than India. Never say never, but unless Switzerland goes to hell in a hand cart, it will be a lot better place to live than India for a long time.

@Italofono2 There is a concept of PPP (Purchasing Power Parity), cost of living is dependent on PPP to a large extent so GDP/capita may not be right to use here. It makes a lot of sense for people looking for "growth" which is happening in countries like India, and China. If people are looking for opportunities, they are ample in India. I am not against America, but I feel India is just starting its rise and America is plummeting (as data also says) in terms of growth.

What a strange cluster of illiterate bashing I read mixed within a handful of sane and respectful comments. Fortunately for me, the "average" American isn't representative of myself. I have plenty of friends who are from India and regularly make the trip back and forth from the U.S. I do not see them as "parasites" or have any reason to believe in racism. Of course, I'm also a redneck southerner by technicality, but enlightened by choice. There is no "dream" - only hard work and reward.

Many of these people are educated in American universities, they do nothing that other people can't do. But they are right about something, there are more opportunities arising in India. Why? Where are our jobs going? Fords are being made in India, engines and appliances are now being made in Mexico, even the credit bureaus have outsourced jobs to India and the Philippines. Americans can't compete with slave labor, simple as that. The plant even I use to work at...went to Mexico.

To take advantage of an impoverished people by paying low wages is a form of extortion, it also results in a domino effect by pushing down wages elsewhere and destroying worker rights. Frankly, this is the big problem with immigration in the 21st Century--lack of ties that bind the new immigrant to their new homeland. Countries are now viewed as street corners, can't sell your shit on one street corner? just move to the next one.
